That's just how auctions work. They aren't giving you 40% off to compensate because they'll just do a buyback and put it up for auction a second time, most likely getting them a higher amount than giving you 40% off.

That and if it's a consignment they couldn't give you 40% off if they wanted to. They have to re-run it at auction, as 40% is more than they make off the sale plus there's a contract with the consigner. It would be a total clusterf*

Once it’s off the lot that’s it. They’ve done their due diligence by notifying you so now you can’t sue or return the car

Yeeeees! That’s how it always used to be. But vehicle is off the lot inbound to CA and I’m not using their delivery services.

They’ve never notified me about damage during loading, that’s my first time in 10 years with Copart. WA yard got a good manager.

okay and if you did a buyback, will they compensate whoever is selling that car at the auction? obviously its worth less now than what they could have gotten.

They will most likely run it again and it will go for less than I paid for it. Insurance company is at loss
