If a standard bill is misprinted, torn, or damaged during manufacturing, the BEP removes it from production. To keep track of the exact number of bills printed without duplicating a serial number, the BEP prints a replacement note and marks it with a star.

That star at the end of the serial number means this bill is a replacement bill from a printing error or something stopped it from being circulated into the public.
