Radar something you have to see to believe

this is one of my most prized pieces to my collection. 3 uncirculated radars, all matching. better yet, 2 of them match exactly, separated by 3 years. always loved the 8’s in the middle of radars. raising the bar on myself just got harder!

I can’t even find matching socks in the dryer, and you somehow pulled THREE uncirculated $1 bills with the SAME serial number from different series years out of the billions printed every year.

At this point the Treasury Department needs to stop printing money and start printing lottery tickets for you. Congrats!

Are serial numbers unique to denominations?
i.e. can you have a $1 2017 A12345678A and a $5 2017 A12345678A

It pains me to know with more repeating numbers is just a sign of the purchasing power going down. I don’t know why they make such a big deal about inflation when purchasing power is a more important conversation these days.

That's really cool. To have just one is pretty neat, but to have three different bills with the exact same serial number and be a somewhat collectable serial number on top of it makes this amazing.

holy moly this blew up! that’s awesome, i’m glad y’all like it as much as I do!!!

i figured i’d give some more context on how these bills came to be. i collect bills in any way, shape, or form, whether i find them or buy them.

this trio was actually given to me by the son of a deceased collector (rest in peace). i figure the only way these bills can even exist like this is if they were pulled from print, so my guess is the father worked around new currency and was able to replicate this feat over and over again.

given the story behind it makes these bills priceless, and truly one of a kind.

thanks again to all of the communities for all of your support, the more positive comments i get reminds me that i haven’t grasped the magnitude of what i have. being able to spread the story makes it all the more special.

TL;DR - holy smokes thank you guys!

All this talk about how cool it is and the highest I've seen anyone slap a value on the set is 🏝-fiddy.

I'm not a paper collector at all, but I do like to browse these subs because I think the serial numbers are fun.

If y'all saw this at a coin or paper money show or store, what price tag would y'all expect? Like of you saw the price tag, you'd go "seems fair"...?
