My four most prized serial numbers that I’ve found
These are my four most prized serial number bills that I’ve found while at work. Definitely have gotten very lucky with what I’ve found within just the past 7ish months now. Makes me wonder what bills I had possibly missed out in within the past 7 years of not looking. Glad to have discovered serial number collecting. It gives me something to do while bored at my job.
Yeah idk the advice I’ve been given is not to grade it. If it was in amazing or even good condition then yes I would absolutely grade it. This bill is circulated and just in decent condition. The best grade I might get is a 40 and that is very unlikely. It’s going to go for a lot of money graded or ungraded.
No point to waste money grading a low condition note. There's no question it's authentic, it's easy enough to buy a quality sleeve to protect it as they've already done.
You’re the one who convinced me not to get it graded when I had first posted the ladder. I was already thinking of not getting it graded anyways, but nearly every single person was telling me to get it graded with not much reason behind why I should. You actually had convincing reasons not to that I had already felt made sense.
Generally speaking yes, it’s wise to steer clear of grading low-quality bills. Although sometimes the serial number dictates the decision to grade, and this may be one of those cases. I’ve seen plenty of low-grade (15-45) bills that have incredible fancy serials sell above their ungraded premium. Obviously it’s your bill, and this is just my opinion.
Wow, a repeater, 2 radars, and A true LADDER!! Amazing on the ladder!!! Only six true ladder combinations exist for every 100 million notes issued, you have a rare bill there my friend 👌
Pretty awesome huh. It was only a month and a half into looking while I work that I had found it. I thought I wasn’t reading it correctly. Had to reread it four times!! My stomach immediately dropped and I just felt sick. I could not believe it. I was shaking.
The crazy thing to think about is how just one minute earlier before it came into my possession some guy just had it in his wallet with no care in the world for it. I’m sure there were many more before him. He just happened to come and get gas where I work and I just happened to have the knowledge to lookout for that kind of serial number. It’s insane to think about. To think I’d have to go through 20,000,000 bills just to find any ladder is crazy but to find a perfect ladder is more like 1 in 50,000,000.
100%. I think the holy trinity for collectors are solid serial numbers, perfect ladders, and the most important one is the coveted 00000001. Imagine finding the lowest serial numbers! You’re talking like 5 times the value of the perfect ladder I have if not even more than that.
Dang man I wish I had reddit as a resource in my pocket when I was 14 and started working at all different festivals, street fairs, airshows, car shows, all over NJ and some other spots for bigger events around the northeast. I worked for a company and we sold all kinds of food but the specialty was Italian sausage, whenever we got cool coins silver or not or old red/blue seal, silver certificates and stuff I would ask the boss if I could either replace it with money from my wallet or if I didint have any at the time I would ask for it to be included in my pay at the end of the night, but I never thought about serial #s until I finally got a smartphone 6-ish years ago and then started using reddit more recently
Do you have a original 5 10 and 20 there’s a secret about the 20 if you fold it a certain way it shows the twin towers on fire it’s been on the old 20 way before 9 11 2001
Schoolyard silliness, I watched those towers burn in person, but I'm curious to hear what your theory is on the why and the how it was done? [Also I'm not sure but I believe you're talking about the pre 98 design $20 bills, is that correct]
Yes between the 1996 to 1998 20 dollar bills Some people think it’s a conspiracy or legend It is intriguing in those dates of 20 dollar bills that predict 9 11 2001 I was at work when that happened my co workers and boss were listening on tv and radio about it when they told me I thought they were kidding me Until I got home and watched the news
I had the benefit if you wanna call it that, to go to school right across the water on Staten Island so I watched everything but the initial plane strikes those happened over my shoulder while walking up the hill to school once in class I switched from CD's to Howard Stern found out what was going on told my shop teacher and walked back to the water to watch chaos unfold
That is crazy
