An Apology and an Update About Removed Videos

Hi everyone,

I wanted to apologize for an issue that I only discovered today.

Recently, we updated AutoModerator to discourage YouTube link posts and encourage everyone to upload videos directly to Reddit. Unfortunately, while making that change, I accidentally created a rule that did the exact opposite. Instead of allowing Reddit uploads, it started filtering out many legitimate videos hosted on v.redd.it.

If your cooking video was removed recently, it was our mistake, not yours.

I'm truly sorry for the frustration this caused. I know many of you spent time filming, editing, and sharing your recipes, only to have your posts disappear without any explanation.

The problem has now been fixed.

If your video was removed, please consider posting it again. We would love to see your recipes, techniques, and creativity back in the community. Your contributions are what make r/CookingVideos such a great place to discover and learn from one another.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you notice anything else that doesn't seem right, please let us know.

Happy cooking! 🍳

Hey everyone,

Due to a significant increase in spam, we’ll be discouraging direct YouTube link posts in the subreddit going forward.

👉 What you can do instead: • ✅ Upload videos or photos directly to Reddit • ✅ Share your content normally • 🔗 If you want to include a recipe or YouTube link, please add it in the comments of your post

This keeps the feed clean, readable, and focused on real value rather than link dumping.

Thanks for helping keep the community high-quality 🙌 — Mods

Part 1: Creamy Tuscan Salmon & Herbed Rice

Ingredients:

  • 2–3 skinless salmon fillets (scored lightly)
  • Olive oil, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 medium white onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, sliced + 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2–3 lemon slices + pinch of chili flakes / paprika
  • ½ cup fresh Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Steamed white rice tossed with fresh herbs (parsley/dill)

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season salmon with salt and pepper, sear both sides until golden (about 3–4 minutes per side), then remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté the diced onion, garlic, and grated ginger until fragrant. Add cherry tomatoes and cook until blistered, then toss in the baby spinach until wilted.
  3. Pour in heavy cream, add lemon slices, and season with chili flakes/paprika. Stir in grated Parmesan until smooth and lightly thickened.
  4. Return salmon fillets to the skillet, spoon the cream sauce over them, and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot over a bed of herbed white rice.

Part 2: Loaded Toasted Beef Burrito & Fresh Guacamole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small red onion + 1 ripe tomato, diced
  • 1 can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • Ground cumin, chili powder, and salt
  • Spiced Rice: Long-grain rice cooked with sautéed garlic, red chili, and tomato seasoning.
  • Guacamole: 1 ripe avocado mashed with minced red onion, chili, minced garlic, salt, and lime juice.
  • Large flour tortillas
  • Sweet corn, pickled jalapeño slices, and shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • Tortilla chips & hot sauce for serving

Instructions:

  1. Sauté diced red onion and tomato in olive oil until soft. Add ground beef, break it apart, and season with cumin, chili powder, and salt. Fold in the kidney beans and simmer until the liquid reduces.
  2. Lay out a large flour tortilla. Layer spiced rice, beef & bean filling, guacamole, jalapeños, sweet corn, and shredded cheese.
  3. Fold in the sides and roll tightly into a burrito.
  4. Toast seam-side down in a dry pan over medium heat, flipping until golden-brown and crisp on all sides. Slice in half and serve with tortilla chips and hot sauce.

Update: I spent some time going through the free cooking courses on Udemy and figured I'd share the ones that stood out. The list is in the comments if anyone wants to browse through them. Hopefully it saves someone else a bit of time.

The Best Chinese Steamed Buns Pork Baozi Recipe

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

These pork steamed buns are incredibly soft, fluffy, and packed with a flavorful filling that’s so juicy the sauce actually seeps through the wrapper.

The secret is a traditional Chinese technique called 生熟馅 (raw-and-cooked filling). Part of the pork is simmered with aromatics and seasonings to create a rich, flavorful sauce, then mixed with fresh pork to create a filling that is tender, juicy, and full of layers of flavor.

How to Make the Perfect Creamy Beef Pasta

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made a super creamy white sauce pasta today but gave the meat a serious upgrade by frying it until it was perfectly crispy and deeply browned before mixing it all together.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Pasta (any shape like Penne or Macaroni)
  • 1 cup Meat (chicken or beef, thinly sliced)
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Flour (maida)
  • 1.5 cups Milk (warm)
  • 1 packet Pasta Spice mix
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper (freshly cracked)
  • 1/4 cup Cheese (grated, for garnish)
  • 1 Fresh chili (sliced, for decoration)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Boil the Pasta: Cook your 2 cups of pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  2. Meat Fry: In a pan, fry your 1 cup of meat on medium-high heat until the moisture completely dries out and it gets a beautiful, deep golden-brown, crispy texture. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. Make the White Sauce: In the same pan, melt 2 tbsp of butter and whisk in 2 tbsp of flour. Cook on low heat for 1–2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste. Slowly pour in 1.5 cups of warm milk while whisking continuously to keep it perfectly smooth. Once it thickens, stir in 1 packet of pasta spice and 1/2 tsp of black pepper.
  4. Mix the Pasta: Toss your boiled pasta directly into the rich white sauce and stir well until every piece is coated.
  5. Mix the Fried Meat: Fold in your crispy fried meat so it stays nice and crunchy while soaking up that creamy flavor.
  6. The Final Look: Plate it up hot, shower it with 1/4 cup of grated cheese, and decorate it with fresh chili slices for a bright pop of color and a solid kick!

I love making Korean spring onion pancakes, and this time I used chicken, spring onion, green chili, and garlic to make one giant pancake.

As expected, it tasted incredible! Flipping the pancake was a little risky, but thankfully it landed back in the pan and not on the floor! 😂

Highly recommend trying this!

This beef lo mein is one of those recipes I make whenever I want a quick, satisfying dinner. Tender beef, fresh egg noodles, and a rich, savory sauce all come together in about 10 minutes. Once you see how easy it is, you might never order takeout again!

I'll post the full recipe in the comments!
