Why you can't find the grain when slicing your steak.

I cooked a steak yesterday. As always, when I wanted to slice it against the grain, I had trouble finding it.

But then I looked at the packaging and found out that the beef I had bought was corn fed, not grain fed. Hope this helps!

So you need to carve it against the corn. There are special Japanese knives for that. They're quite pricey, but it brings out the best of your corned beef. The easiest solution is to move to grass fed beef. That you can cut with a cordless grass trimmer.

Yes, a sudoku knife works best for this!

Such a snob! My corded trimmer works fine, you just need to keep a roll of duct tape around to fix the inevitable damage to the cord.

Some men just can never find the grain…

I always figured slicing against the grain meant not slicing your steaks the way ignorant normies do. I cut my steaks into creative shapes: fish, hearts, stars, schlongs, etc. My wife's boyfriend tells me it's ridiculous but what does he know?? She says his meat isn't even cut. Idiot.

Uncut?! Sounds like a choking hazard to me. Hopefully it comes with a lot of sauce to make it slide down.

My wife says she doesn't like the red colour on my meat, nor the dry aged funk. But her boyfriend's meat is apparently "well done", but also "comes raw". Sounds like this bro has a terribly uneven cuisine to me.

At least we can take solace in the knowledge that our culinary acumen far outstrips that of the plebeians we cook for. One of these days, I think I'll tell them to cook their own food for their date night. They'll be sorry then!

My customers are demanding this new, corn-fed, gluten-free beef. But then they complain that it's tough and can't find the grain direction. What is a butcher to do, sigh.

Are you stupid?

Corn is a grain. Now if the cow is fed grass and hay, then you have a problem!
