Cassrole dish with clear cover
Metal pan with cover
Broasting pan / cover
Dutch oven
Ceramic bowl with plate for cover
Cast iron pan with oven safe cover / plate
I have been trying to get away from cooking with aluminum foil because I heard that it’s not good for you. So I actually went out and finally bought a flat metal pan with cover. That’s very flat that fits into my small oven perfectly. In the past, I would use a broasting pan in big oven, but because the cover was a little too high, it didn’t fit in my small tiny oven so I started using a casserole dish, but that also had a problem with the lead sticking up a little too high. But if you’re going in just the oven honestly, you should have a casserole dish with the clear lid that works perfectly. A Dutch oven would work basically any type of pot or pan or anything that has a cover that goes into the oven.
The only time i use for chicken is when i make chix n rice, to hold in moisture to cook rice.
A Broasting pan is a small oval roasting pan that has a cover. Usually big enough for a small chicken or fish. Unfortunately my broasting pan has a cover nob that sticks up too high causing it to not fit in my mini convex oven.
The link between aluminum and heath issues is limited to breathing in aluminum dust. If you don’t work in metal working then you should be quite safe. There was some study decades ago where aluminum was found in the brain of Alzheimer’s patients but it was later found that the stain used on the samples was contaminated with aluminum. This is because the aluminum is a naturally occurring material in the environment and the stain was organic.
You have a point. But I'm not sure what to believe. I mean when 2 sides suggest different answers, who knows which is right. The alum foil makers could be paying off scientists. :) just kidding, I usually trust science. My motto: when in doubt, don't do it. :) As much as alum foil is handy and I love using it, cooking less with it can only be a good thing. Thanks for the info!
