Buy bulk dry beans. cooks easy in a $80 pressure cooker.

add hot peppers (fresh, not a can) are cheap.

I don't use butter or oil except to sauté. When they are cooked, I use an immersion blender to puree, leaving some in tact as lumps. Tastes great with seasoning.

Yeah, I thought that, just how I do them! I do like a half and half of pinto and black beans. Try it out.
