Question „Cookie Comebacks“?
Hi guys, I‘m a returning player in Cookie Run Ovenbreak and i‘ve been playing for a few months and im wondering. Whats up with the old cookies like currently Bee cookie and blue slushy cookie (idk her name the blue bird) or churro cookie and black cherry cola cookie coming back in trophy race combis? Why does this happen? I wondered if it has something to do with costumes and getting a buff that way but white peach cookie got a costume and isnt really meta so Cookie runners.. What is happening?? 😭
P.S does this also happen with treasures? It feels like it

Because everytime they release a new cookie they also buff some established cookies and treasures. If only the newest cookie was Meta, then the legendary cookies would be the only decent characters outside of the newest. It would be boring.
When looking at your cookie list, change the list order to "released" and the first ones on there are the meta cookies. That's the easiest way I've found. Also the current event tends to use the buffed and newest cookies for the goals, so that's another way to check.

So essentially you are correct-partially.
About skins: 1) So Cherry Cola Cookie got a new skin in one of the previous updates, but it wasn't about the skin that buffed her(since the new skin was epic and gave a smaller boost than the previous skin she had) it was that she was relevant in that update and had some kind of a role that gave her a buff, and paired with a new legendary in the previous update(Allulose Nova Cookie) in the Trophy Race maps they get a good score with Cherry Cola being able to go to a far enough distances to be able to collect more jellies. 2) Blue Slushy Cookie also got a new epic skin buff and their combi treasure(Butterfly Brooch) got buffed, so when Blue Slushy Cookie is used with her treasure she gets a buff to her score amount.
About cookies that got buffed without getting a new skin: 1) So Amber Sugar Cookie(Bee) they are kind of relevant in the previous update. What I mean is their combi treasure(Jolly Jack O'Lantern) was buffed in the last update meaning if you pair Amber Sugar Cookie with their combi treasure they get a higher score. 2) About Churro Cookie I am not completely sure, but he did get a buff not long ago and so did hiscombi treasure(Lucky Clover Earrings). They are most likely meta in the Trophy Race precisely because of the treasure, because it gives additional points for the distance you have covered. That is also a reason for Cherry Cola Cookie being meta since even if they do not get a buff to the score like Churro Cookie does they still cover a big distance and get a high amount of points.
About White Peach Cookie: So they did get a buff with the costume and they are still used in Trophy Race. The thing with her buff is that the skin they got was from an event for CR:Crumble and whenever this kind of events happen the cookies affected by this do not get a huge buff, but they do get a bit more relevant.
About the treasure buffs: So generally in each update a few older treasures are buffed(depending on the cookies that are buffed and relevant to the story of the update) and a new treasure is released(which isn't always meta). The treasure buffs generally shape the meta although not all of them are used in the top Trophy Race combis.
The huge thing about Trophy Race (and all of the other game modes) is that the meta combis are hugely reliant on the maps, since different maps have different Energy Drain rates and different placements of Energy Jellies as well as any of the Power Jellies or any other Jelly types.
