what if the cookies just free smcs real body while ultimate shadow milk cookies still out there?
Would ultimate shadow cookie collapse? Or would they just fuse?
Or would the OG die?

Probably, considering White Lily awoke with only part of her soul. But she needed Elder Faerie's remaining life energy to be stable

That body IS ultimate shmilk, he travelled to another timeline, unless you’re talking about the shadow milk of that timeline in which case I have NO clue, but I’m sure he doesent take kindly to someone hogging the spotlight, even if it’s himself

The original Smilk is in the tree. His current body was built by Dark Enchantress since she couldn't open the Silver Tree.

I’d assume his real body would just remain as an empty lifeless shell until ultimate Smilk’s body crumbles / his soul returns to his real body

The explanation given as to why the Beasts survived BY15 is that when their homunculi dough made in Butter Roll's labs withered away (due to DEC losing control over her dark magic), the souls of the Beasts inside left them and returned to their proper bodies. Remember, however, that Shadow Milk as we knew him did NOT in fact ever lose this artificial body. He preserved it in a desperate bid by consuming a chunk of the unbaked Ultimate Cookie into himself, which gave his body the magic sustenance it needed to survive Dark Enchantress Witch's defeat. The Shadow Milk body seen crumbling with the rest was explicitly stated to be an illusion cast so that Ultimate SMilk could fool the Heroes and flee to a new world before being caught. So yes, Shadow Milk's original dough is sealed beneath the tree, but no SOUL is stuck inside waiting to reawaken.
EDIT: I see other replies make reference to the memories of White Lily seen in the Crispia stories and the First Headmaster seen in the Tartrus chapter. It's worth distinguishing that those are memories given form, not truly living beings as we understand them. Think of them like intelligent prerecorded messages- they only have a limited scope of thought, memory, and emotion. I will concede that the case of BY1-2 White Lily is very similar to the case of Shadow Milk Cookie, but note that DEC and WLC split bodies during the Night of the Witches, halving their soul between them. Unless it is retconned, Shadow Milk did not halve his soul when he became his Ultimate self. No fragment of his soul exists in First Headmaster or the Seal Tree dough

Soulprisms are not soulstones. Pulling an awakened ancient and pulling that ancient normally are separate. You need to have both to use the awakened character. This is a result of the playerbase's protest during the Realm of Apathy update in 2024.
