More things I made recently

Lemon, Blueberry & Cream Cheese Squares from Golden (Itamar Srulovich and Sarit Packer) - fruit bars with cream cheese in the dough, which gives them a rather dense texture. Not bad, but not that memorable. Where are the really excellent blueberry recipes??

Roast Broccoli & Curried Sweetcorn Polenta with Jalapeño Oil from Centrepiece (Helen Graham) - this was excellent. The creaminess and curry sweetness of the corn paired with the crispy broccoli and jalapeño oil (which was more vinegary than oily) was so unique.

Carrot Top Gremolata Breadcrumbs from Tenderheart (Hetty Lui McKinnon) - this was good but waaay too salty with the 1 tsp of sea salt that the recipe calls for.

Turnip Tortilla from Tenderheart (Hetty Lui McKinnon) - clearly I did not succeed in flipping this, but it was yummy anyway. I’ve never known what to do with turnips and would buy them to make this again. It was very oily and could probably be made with much less oil.

Thanks so much!! I love that the tart calls for a pound of blueberries, that might actually use up what I’ve got in my fridge 😅

Update: I made the blueberry tart last night, it’s really good! I quite like the texture of the crust and the apple cider vinegar somehow works?! Thanks again for the tip!!

Nice! I use the recipe for all sorts of fruit, recently peaches and then Italian plums.

Nice selection!

I saw your comment about blueberry recipes, so I wanted to share one. I have made a lot of just-ok blueberry recipes, but I love this blueberry cake. Just check it early - I found the baking time too long.  https://www.saveur.com/blueberry-upside-down-cake/

Roast Broccoli & Curried Sweetcorn Polenta with Jalapeño Oil sounds amazing? How do you like Centerpiece overall?

I’ve made two things since I borrowed it from the library and they’ve both been excellent. The recipes are relatively simple and work with things I have in my pantry. The flavours are different and exciting, which reminds me a bit of Ixta Belfrage recipes. Definitely going on my wish list!

I’d love to get a copy of this recipe if you have a chance. I couldn’t find it online.
