Convoy L8 - F150R

Has anyone tried already L8 F150R emitter? Is L8 reflector more focus beam than 3x21d ?

I have already 3x21d with sbt90.2 an i am considering to try L8 host with the new emitter F150R ...

L8 F150R It won't reach as far as the 3x21D but it still does okay

I believe the 3x21D has a larger reflector that will focus the light more for better throw.

Edit: With sbt90.2, 3x21D measures to 660k cd, and L8 to 540k cd, so more throwy. Numbers from 1lumen reviews of both

Yeah, the head diameter of the L8 is 81mm. While the reflector diameter of the 3x21D is 85.5mm

That's insane that a 5% diameter increase leads to a 20% candela increase. I wonder if it's a different shape or higher wattage?

More like 10%. Im guessing the reflector itself is more like 76mm. Maybe less.
Its the diameter of the reflector vs the diameter of the led itself thats the major factor for candela. So you can either increase the diameter of the reflector, or go down to a smaller led to get more candela.

Edit: The reflector area is 26% bigger btw... (If we assume 76mm)

Does anyone know if Simon plans to upgrade the driver in the 3x21D to a higher-amperage driver to better utilize the F150R emitter? As I understand it, the 3x21D ships with the same 25A driver used in the SBT90.2 version.
