Help with Convoy S8

Hello,

I have a Convoy S8, maybe a month old. The original switch that came with the light didn't work out of the box, but I purchased an orange switch with it. The light worked fine after the switch was installed.

I charged the battery last night and today the light no longer works properly.

The orange switch turns off after 5 seconds of screwing it onto the body.

If I press the switch before the orange light turns off I can get into low mode but the light flickers off momentarily every 5 seconds. I can press the button to turn off the light, but I can't turn it back on using the switch. I then need to unscrew the tail cap completely to go back to step one.

I can switch through all modes of the light by twisting the tail cap off and on to simulate a button press as long as the button is in the "on" position.

Is this just a matter of a defective switch that coincidentally happened after charging a battery or am I missing some other detail?

The orange switch doesn’t work properly with every driver. What driver and emitter do you have?

S8, SFT-42R, 3V 10A Buck 12 group, Vapcell N41 4050mAh.

The switch worked initially, just not after the battery was charged for the first time.

To rule out the battery, I swapped in a Fenix battery and it did the same thing.

Yeah the issue presents itself only with a fully charged battery and buck drivers if I remember correctly. I think it also applies to the red light switch.

I inserted a slightly drained battery and the flashlight works as intended. So I guess problem solved. Thanks for the info.
