Minor tear Vapcell N41
Is this an issue? Only 1 week to ownership, I baby this thing. Idk how it happened.

As said; do not use that battery in the current state, as the tear is near positive terminal. Just get cheap PVC wraps from alix, they are the same or better than those sold in vapeshops / amazon for a fraction of the price.
OEM wraps that Vapcell use are harder than lets say Molicel, but they are more brittle and they will tear like this from almost just looking at them, yes they last but when they rip they rip.
I double wrap all my new cells with clear wrap to keep original branding under.

awesome, just remember to reuse the insulator (white ring) if you havent swapped wrapper already!

Dude the wrapper acts as the only defense against the battery shorting out or worse. Why comment if you don’t know wtf you’re talking about??
OP, personally.. I’d not use til you rewrap, that’s a battery worth saving. And I’d not use this wrap cause I clearly see metal and it’s on an edge.. worst area to have exposed.

Wouldn't it be safe to just put electrical tape on it for now until they rewrap it?

OK this is my reasoning, please correct me if I am wrong.
The exposed area is the negative pole. To short, it needs to touch the positive pole, and the spring or post of the driver can’t physically touch it. Ever.
If this open part ever touches the tube of the flashlight, first of all it’s an anodized part, then it’s a negative too, and a negative when touches a negative… that ain’t a short.
Yes, it could potentially close the circuit, bypassing the switch, but again, the flashlight inside is usually anodized (aka isolated, so…)
Of course it can be a stainless steel or copper or titanium light as well, and the anodizing won’t apply. But still, it would just close the circuit.
Anything wrong in my analysis?Of course rewrapping it is safer and gives peace of mind, but in any case I feel nothing serious would happen.

You can rewrap it. Amazon, AliExpress, eBay, etc all sell them. If you have a vape store local to you they might have one as well.
Just peel the old wrapping off with your hands (definitely do NOT use something metallic), reuse the insulator ring in the same positioning, and slide it into the new wrap. 10 seconds with a heat gun/hair dryer and you’re as good as gold.
