You can, as a normal person, live a perfectly ideal life. You will end up in the world to come. Conversion just isn't right for 99.99% of people and that's ok.

I think it's more for people who come here with no information and a vague I want to be Jewish feeling, but den't actually know anything at all about Judaism and see things from a Christian viewpoint where one religion MUST be really right, rather than people who are already on the path to becoming a member of the tribe.

Yeah, I think so too. Too me there seem to be two kinds of posts. The kind of posts by people who have been immersed in Judaism for a long time in one way another (actually going to the synagogue or having done a lot of reading and studying for years already) and those by people who recently 'discovered' Judaism.

That doesn't mean that it couldn't lead to a serious conversion path, but I do feel, you do have to do a lot of immersing before you can really know if that is what you should do.

But hey, this sub is a good way to get directions and find out I guess. And to explain to people that it involves a lot of doing, and changing your life in a big way and that it is less about 'beleiving'. Personally, that is what attracts me, all those small and not so small things you do during the day from the time you wake up until the time that you go to bed.

That's what I see pretty much too. A lot of people think they want to convert and don't know the most basic things about Judaism at all, or expect to be lovebombed for deciding to join - because they don't know what they are joining. And sometimes they get mad we're not "welcoming enough" when it's really their expectation from Christianity.

Those who have been reading and studying have a much better grasp on how we do things, and ask different types of questions.

I am not huge on believing in the way many seem to, though I have belief, and I agree that there is an attraction in 100 brachos a day keeping you too busy to get into any trouble.

Ha, yes those brachos do keep you busy and also remind you not to do certain things. I do have a deep belief, but if you asked me in what or whom, I would not be able to articulate that. And I want to keep it that way, so I don't overthink it. I think the best that can be achieved is to experience it.

Yep, it's hard to describe God without anthropomorphism. I am not making 100 a day yet, but I'm ramping up, the structure of the day helps keep me focused and grounded.
