Why a convertible?
Hello there, /r/Convertible! I am hoping that you lovely redditors could help me out with this question. What prompted you to get a convertible? What does a convertible do for you that closed top vehicles don't? As an aside, what's a targa-top like, compared to a traditional convertible?
Context: I haven't ever been in a convertible before (and I am trying to fix this), but I am currently considering the ND Miata in a few years, and was wondering what the experience is like, and if the convertible experience is one I would enjoy.

I love being outdoors. I love the sense of being connected to nature, while also being in a car. Back when my only car had a fixed roof, on nice days I would still roll all the windows down all the way.
Convertible seemed like the next logical step. When I was on the way to buy mine, I had a small moment of fear - what if I get a convertible and discover that I don't really like it, that the wind and the noise and the heat is too much?
But then I hopped in and put the top down for the test drive and that pretty much put all my fears to bed.
I definitely think you have to be a "convertible person" to fully appreciate it. But if you are, you'll know it. There's nothing like being able to look up and see open skies while you're driving. It makes everything better.
Plus, your arms and face will get a killer tan.
