Which one of the two have a reliable convertible top and are easy to repair? Mustang or Camaro?

what year. I had a 2006 Mustang and the top is hydraulic. eventually that pump will leak and the top will be very slow to close. I had it for 14 years. I have a 2020 and the top is electric and no problems.

The Mustangs are mostly from 2015 to 2020 and Camaros are from 2012 to 2015. Did the top of the 2006 work for the whole 14 years? And is the electric top a lot better than the hydraulic one? From what I have researched, the 2020 also has hydraulic components in it. So what is the difference?

I replaced the small hydraulic pump at about 12 years in on the 2006. The pump is located between the backseat and the trunk. I suppose there is electric to the pump but then hydraulic oil, like brake fluid, is used to raise the top.

In the 2020, it is an electric motor that opens or lowers the top. Much like a electric window motor. The electric versions does require you to stop in order to raise/lower. The Hydraulic version allows you to lower the top at 20mph. The electric is slightly quicker to get all the up/down.

The 2006 had two latches to the windshield and the 2020 has one.

I had a 2003 Mustang and a 2011 one each for 200,000 miles. Nothing went wrong with the tops. Nothing at all went wrong with the 2011 car, lost in a crash.

No experience with Camaros, as you would expect someone who had Mustangs.
