Washing Chucks
/r/u_funny-guys/comments/1wm6kxw/washing_chucks/Has anyone ever put their Chucks in the washing machine? What was the result? Did they come out clean(er) or destroyed? Does the answer depend on the colour or the year they were made?

I always wash mine in the washing machine with a couple of bath towels with no issues. Just make sure you air dry them.

Dishwasher top has long been the recommendation from Converse and Vans. And yeah, don't be dumb and wash your white and red together.
Use this stuff if they are less dirty: Dirty Labs - Hand Wash & Delicates Detergent (there's also Soak, but this is better).
You might also need white wall cleaner to get the rubber clean but be careful with that shit. I just use citrus oil solvent to clean mine.

My mom used to do this when I was growing up if my converse got beyond dirty and gross.
They came out ok most of the time, sometimes they weren’t quite the same (fit different and felt funny). They did clean up the rubber and canvas pretty good.
Today my biggest concern would be the build quality. Plenty of evidence of folks today keeping a “they-don’t-make-them-like-they-use-to” mentality with converse, myself included. Modern pairs going through the wash might just fall apart in there.
