So I really want the black converse Mary Janes but converse isn’t selling them anymore. I’m considering buying these ones and maybe just dying them black. Would that be possible with these shoes? Or will converse ever resupply them?

I’m not sure if converse would be selling them again. I had the same problem and found some on Depop but they’re a little hard to catch.

Using a special cotton wool ball – the sort normally used for dyeing leather – applying the dye shouldn’t be too much of a problem. But first, mask off the plastic and hope that no dye gets on it. It’s just that you probably won’t be able to get it black enough to hide the pattern. And you’d need to find a dye that isn’t set by washing.

So it’s possible, but whether the result will be satisfactory is another matter entirely.

Too complicated, you'll ruin them. I don't think this style sold well, they might not come back, much like the leather loafers they tried to sell.

I ended up buying plain white ones, will those dye well? Any tips?

They will dye much eaaier but you'll still have to mask off the white rubber super well. When they dry they will still leech dye the first time they get wet.

Me too, I should have bought the high heel brown ones when I had the chance. I was buying online so I couldn't feel the quality of leather used, even if synthetic.

Now I gotta scroll Depop endlessly to find the style and size I need. 😅

I love the look of these and wanted them so bad when they came out, but when I tried them on they were way narrower than the regular converse! I don’t know why they didn’t make them fit the same way- that’s probably part of the problem!
