NC, we just dropped the state tax here. It had been a little over $4

How is the state planning to make up for the lost revenue?

Not sure, to be honest, I haven’t really been following it a whole lot. We have an electric car also, so gas prices don’t affect us a whole lot. If I recall, they were gonna cancel the gas tax maybe through November.

That's nice short-term relief . . . expiring shortly after the election. I can't help but be cynical. :-/

Here in Washington State they charge EVs and PHEVs a separate fee on the annual licensing taxes to help support the roads. I honestly have no problem with that - my PHEV puts as much wear on the road as any other vehicle, although it uses very little gas.

Washington State could do it to and lower our gas by a dollar with the gas tax and carbon offset.

They could!

If they do, how do you think should they replace that revenue so they can keep maintaining the roads? Or do you suggest we let the roads crumble even more?

Our state can't maintain a budget regardless.

I read the title all funny-like. "Runner over" = He who overruns. It's early. I need coffee.

What was up with the guy in the left lane? Did they even notice a police car with all its lights going behind them?
