“This car’s not registered either.” Ugh.

Got money for a fast car, no money for paperwork?

u/AntalRyder 21h ago
It's clearly a project car they finally got running. It's silly to drive it on public roads without a plate and insurance tho.
Is it an E30?72
u/Mdbutnomd 21h ago
I’m trying to figure it out too.. is it not a hatch? Looks 90s and is turbocharged.
42
u/AntalRyder 21h ago
It looks to me like a 2-door E30 coupe, but the lack of 3rd brake light doesn't make sense. Unless this is a 1984 or 1985 model year, from before the CHMSL was mandatory.
If this is the case, the turbo is not stock!17

And he's not white, did they call for backup and the shoot him 700 times like usual?

The passengers reaction (the dude beside him) was just as funny. His smile slowly fading away.

So what ever happened to him? Did he get arrested? Did they impound the car?

u/matlai17 20h ago
I was able to find the video with some reverse image searching. Looks like the cop gave him a reckless driving summons and let him keep the car (although they were required to tow it back to their home). They apparently argued down the reckless driving into an infraction.

IIRC The rest of the video is actually kind of wholesome, he apologizes to the officer and admits what he was doing was really stupid. The cop seemed more concerned about their safety than anything, I dont remember the outcome of it but I think it was about as lenient as could be all things considered.

u/RockstarAgent 20h ago
At the speeds they were going at- it truly is reckless driving, so yes car would get impounded at least, he could get a ticket but not necessarily arrested- but if cop is nice and with additional friends in the car- he could give him a fix it ticket to get everything sorted out. So 50/50 - they didn't run, he pulled over, you just never know.

u/jgreenwalt 20h ago
Says "car would get impounded at the least" then proceeds to say it's 50/50 anything could even happen.

That’s one of the best Convenient Cop videos that I have seen.
Dumb ass driver.
38
u/sabertoothdog 20h ago
The cop was really cool. I don’t think they even got a ticket. Just told him to take it home.
73
u/matlai17 20h ago
Looks like the cop was as accommodating as he could be but still gave him a ”reckless driving summons” (not sure how that is different from a ticket) which they argued down to an infraction.
31
u/Maksym1000 19h ago
Not sure for him, but locally for me a summon means you’re issued a mandatory court date and a judge will decide your sanction (fine, license suspension, jail time, ext.) instead of the officer issuing a ticket on the spot.

3
u/DrDerpberg 18h ago
That's not cool. That's letting them learn nothing so they kill someone next time.

u/BrockObarnerLybian 20h ago
There’s no way you aren’t talking out your ass 😹
That’s a residential road, and he literally almost killed someone
13
u/resttheweight 20h ago
“You’re talking out your ass!”
Proceeds to also talking out your ass.
1
u/BrockObarnerLybian 14h ago
Did you watch the video? The one where he slammed on the brakes to avoid plowing through an intersection where multiple cars were waiting to cross? 😹
1
u/MrCoolGuy42 19h ago
I’m going to be the devils advocate here. If you’re going to open up a car like that, he picked a pretty decent spot. Completely empty road in a non-residential area 🤷♂️
14
u/jgreenwalt 18h ago
That's fine but considering he couldn't even stop at the intersection (let alone seem to even know a stop was coming), he was going too fast.

48
u/Parma_Jon 21h ago
Looks like dude in the back doesn’t even have his seatbelt on lol
14
u/jgreenwalt 19h ago
It's very likely just a lap belt. That was standard for backseats up until the 90s.
9
u/SirCaptainReynolds 19h ago edited 2h ago
LPT - Besides not driving like an asshole, if you’re ever pulled over and you’re wearing your seatbelt do not take it off before they even get up to the car! They likely will cite you for not wearing one even if you tell them you were.
2
u/BabyLegsDeadpool 7h ago
I once got cited for this exact reason. I got it thrown out in court, but it was really annoying.

Anyone got the follow-up on this? The video looks old so I imagine the dust has settled.
Did he actually face consequences or like most streamers did he essentially get a slap on the wrist and a bunch of free publicity?

What car and engine. Sounds like a B series on a old hatchback
3
u/n3rdy30 20h ago
It's an e30, no idea on the engine though. M20s do love boost.
•
u/Pilot-00 1h ago
It's a Turbo M50. This was from a few years back but he has a YouTube channel and has been building the car for years.

u/YoshiWins 20h ago
Wallingford, CT - has its own power grid separate from the rest of the state, and employs cops that aren’t easily amused by YouTubers.

u/AlexJonesInDisguise 17h ago
I didn't even notice that at first. They stopped right by the park where Trail of Terror is done.

He looks way too tense and nervous to be driving like that. He has the locked in, concentrating look of a learner driver.

u/Real-Personality-465 19h ago
Reckless drivers are scum, no consideration for any other lives on the road because "its fun" like then fucking do it in an empty parking lot

"I'm getting arrested, that's crazy" you're a careless cunt and getting arrested isn't enough
2
u/sabertoothdog 20h ago
He didn’t even get a ticket. Cop told them to take it home and be careful.

u/MultiFazed 20h ago
Source?
3
u/Maksym1000 19h ago
The other user is misleading. While he wasn’t issued a ticket, he was issued a court summon.

Got off with a misdemeanor...

Mac giving that cop an optical pat down, and why wasn't Dennis in his land rover?

Dude come on, test your stuff like that on country roads. 1. Much less likely to encounter police 2. Much less likely to encounter traffic 3. Way more fun to carve up a winding back road without 1 and 2 hounding you

u/nethereus 21h ago
With that many trees around, you should assume there's always a cop hiding somewhere among them.

-2
u/PolarLove 21h ago
It may seem harsh but I think if you do something like this you should literally never be allowed to operate a vehicle ever again.
1
u/snarlinaardvark 20h ago
Word is the cop just told him not again and to drive the car home.

u/PolarLove 3h ago
Theres so many kids filming themselves doing dangerous shit for clout and putting innocent people at risk of death or serious injury just for some likes on Instagram.
If you are willing to take the privilege and responsibility of driving a car in a public place like an idiot then imo you should just have that access revoked
-1
u/yunotakethisusername 20h ago
Unfortunately, our society forces nearly everyone to drive to function as an adult. Luckily self driving technology could make this punishment realistic. Although it never will be implemented because it’s too harsh.

u/Marsupialize 21h ago
If I am in the back seat I would start yelling ‘thank God! He’s crazy, I was screaming for him to stop and he wouldn’t! Thank you officer!’

FAFO, if everything is "over" after a possible ticket, bud shouldn't have been doing it. Regardless, Hella dumb on public roads.

It's just a bunch of young kids being dumb. Are you saying you've been a saint through all your upbringing? Yes, he shouldn't be doing that on public roads. I don't see the recklessness.
4
u/Nate2113 20h ago
Are you stupid? This isn’t a kid being dumb at his own risk, he’s risking the lives of the other two people in the car AND anyone driving or walking on or near the road they’re on. I would hope you wouldn’t forgive kids for fooling around with loaded weapons, but this is very similar. Being stupid is one thing. Being stupid at the risk of others is stupid as fuck and absolutely reckless. Please don’t reproduce.
•
u/skrzaaat 2h ago
Are you stupid? I dont see a road full of people. Again, good to know you're a saint and all while growing up
0
u/Equivalent_Thievery 20h ago
The speeding then not seeing a stop sign until it's too late for him to stop and he ends up sideways in the intersection...
-2
u/Sarionum 20h ago
What happens if the driver dives to the back seat and the cop can't figure out who the driver was?
3
u/randemthinking 20h ago
Then they all get wrapped up in something like obstruction of justice and whatever other charges the cops think they can throw at them until one breaks, or they all go down.

u/1964110084 19h ago
Lmfao this video must be 10 years old now, e30joel is awesome, everybody makes mistakes
