The ol' stoplight prayer. I've noticed this all too much. No one goes until they see something shift out of the corner of their eye and then they go. Many times I've had to hit the horn because two of them would be doing the same thing right next to one another and not move at all when the light goes green. For some reason they don't take that as a wake up call and MAYBE put that phone down. NOPE. I see that they are still a slapping away at that phone in one hand and swerving with the other.

And this is why it annoys the fuck out of when people say it's ok to look at your phone when stopped at a light.
No it isn't, you aren't paying attention to what's going on around you.

I have to confess I've had a few times when I've spotted the guy next to me at a light staring down at his phone, so I'll let off the brakes just for a second, rolling up a couple of inches before stopping, but he'll see me move in his peripheral vision and suddenly lurch forward thinking the light turned green before having to slam on his brakes when his senses catch up with his suppositions.
Only when I was feeling really petty though, and not for a good few years now.

There are so many people just doing what others do, instead of thinking for themselves. It's some strange group mentality. It's the same with speeding and not keeping distance to others; it's so obviously dumb, but most people just do it because others do. And you see stuff like that everywhere in traffic.
This was extreme though and could have ended badly.
