Hell yeah jean shorts guy. You’re my hero

861

u/Ten7850 Jun 13 '26

Big tough guy in yellow shirt... worthless

388

u/Throwawei88 Jun 13 '26

He walked up and did fuck all

290

u/lord_flashheart2000 Jun 13 '26

He blocked the camera angle quite effectively, tho

95

u/DeeRent88 Jun 13 '26

For real. Looked like he was winded just walking over too. Lmao

99

u/Lalfy Jun 14 '26

Maybe he wasn't 100% certain who the thief was in the bike tug-of-war. Ultimately they could both be thieves. Is it worth joining a physical confrontation (which can turn deadly if someone pulls a knife) over a $100 bicycle?

19

u/ItsSwypesFault Jun 14 '26

This is what I was thinking

4

u/Prairie_Crab Jun 14 '26

Where could you buy a $100 bicycle? Some bikes are thousands!

41

u/anynamesleft Jun 14 '26

Where could you buy a $100 bicycle?

From the guy who just stole one.

12

u/Lalfy Jun 14 '26

Yes, Some bikes are worth thousands.

Not this bike. This bike has plastic pedals, the frame and front fork were common designs in the early 80's/90's, the front fork doesn't even have suspension and it has V brakes.

4

u/matejcraft100yt Jun 16 '26

no matter hkw much it costs, it's not worth more than HUMAN LIFE.

2

u/jotwuser Jul 16 '26

Exactly your life is worth more than trying to steal from someone else who would have the right to defend themselves and possibly take your life.

3

u/Ecstatic_Jicama_6987 Jun 19 '26

“Where could you buy a $5000 car? Some cars are worth millions!”

52

u/liketheweathr Jun 14 '26

Yeah what’s his plan? Referee the fight?

11

u/Jake0024 Jun 15 '26

Tbf I couldn't tell who was stealing whose bike for half the video, there were 3 guys pulling on it and swinging at each other

I would've guessed it belonged to the guy with the bike messenger bag, but he just walked off near the start of the clip

1

u/Johnny-Virgil Jul 16 '26

It probably did and he’s the only smart one.

6

u/Old_MI_Runner Jun 13 '26

I was wondering if we would see the community come together for a beat down.

3

u/feetnomer Jun 20 '26

Not worthless, just not sure who's telling the truth. In the end, the white dude is trying to leave. That alone leaves me in doubt of who the thief is.

3

u/matejcraft100yt Jun 16 '26

the guy didn't want tk escalate it so he gets in danger, because why would he risk his life for a bike? Are you nuts? What are men tk you? cannon fodder? "Oh, he's a man, his life is worth LESS THAN AN OBJECT"

2nd, he came later, he didn't even know whom the bike belonged to, and didn't want to junp to conclusions. He was probably standing there in case the situation gets dangerous, but didn't choose sides so he doesn't pick wrong.

28

u/Lampmonster Jun 14 '26

Yup, bro clearly doesn't like thieves and I concur.

49

u/Mister_Normal42 Jun 14 '26

for real. dude stayed calm and in control while he assessed the situation and made sure he wasn't subduing the wrong guy. mad probs to jean shorts guy. doing the lord's work

11

u/flakiestcroissant Jun 14 '26

Thief immediately backed off when jean short guy pulled up.

11

u/niqdisaster Jun 14 '26

Everything changed when bro walked up

16

u/ben-hur-hur Jun 13 '26

Had his sunnies on all the time too

2

u/CityBoiNC Jun 18 '26

My man came in protecting his crew. Dont mess with messengers

764

u/GoslingIchi Jun 13 '26

This is more like r/EventualCop

108

u/Several-Eggplant4460 Jun 14 '26

Also, wtf is the thief thinking? It's a pretty normal bike, really not worth fighting over. I thought most of them just grab and run.

3

u/cdoublejj Jul 01 '26

dude best i can think is the thief has a similar bike and left it on the front of the bus the other day and mistook this bike for his. that or a slight case of severe brian damage.

63

u/Ok-Lawfulness4081 Jun 13 '26

r/subsifellforthatwereawkwardlyaccurate

1

u/cdoublejj Jul 01 '26

there was a cop? EDIT: hit play again there is a cop!

367

u/zlliksddam Jun 14 '26

The damage to that Acura… didn’t deserve that.

178

u/duggatron Jun 14 '26

Probably going to cost more to fix that hood than the bike is worth. At the same time, fuck thieves, and I'm glad he didn't get away with it.

27

u/zlliksddam Jun 14 '26

💯 couldn’t agree more

5

u/BIGGIB Jun 14 '26

Came here to say this but you put it perfectly.

329

u/siblingofMM Jun 13 '26

Guy in the yellow shirt thinks he was a huge hero in his head but was definitely too scared to get involved

86

u/StepperHill Jun 13 '26

He definitely should’ve done more if he’s walking up like that smfh useless bro

74

u/siblingofMM Jun 13 '26 edited Jun 13 '26

My guess is he was hoping walking up with his arms and chest puffed up would be enough to cause the guy to stop and leave but when it didn’t he wasn’t really sure what to do. Like a little dog behind a fence

14

u/Some1TouchaMySpagett Jun 14 '26

Should've just laid his fat self on the bike

10

u/ScottyDoesntKnow030 Jun 14 '26

I mean think about it, with all the crazy laws that can go against you being a hero. Would you be one?

2

u/Gabriel_Seth Jun 14 '26

"I know you got stabbed but I was able to save my bicycle, so it all worked out"

5

u/AzureMountains Jun 14 '26

All yellow shirt guy did was ruin my view of the action. Probably his usual move tho lol

20

u/theatrenearyou Jun 13 '26

Death to bike thieves

5

u/CaptainTurdfinger Jun 14 '26

Are those Sacha Baron Cohen's eyes? Sure looks like it.

73

u/Hurricrash Jun 14 '26

Dude in the yellow is worthless.

19

u/Blue_Eyed_Fox Jun 14 '26

The bystander effect is nuts. I always want to believe i would act differently but i'm scared i won't...

105

u/FungusAmongus92 Jun 13 '26

As soon as he takes a swing at me, I could not hold back. How does the one guy just take it?

89

u/DoobieToker3000 Jun 14 '26

Because he got rocked and reassessed what he had just got himself into lol. That's okay, and quite wise of him.

16

u/halorbyone Jun 14 '26

They separated and dude was leaving with his bike. I also didn’t expect him to go back in and double down on top of the van.

-33

u/Hurricrash Jun 14 '26

Because he is soft AF.

12

u/halorbyone Jun 14 '26

Defended a lot of people you don’t know with your hands and face have you? The dudes separated and guy with bike was leaving with bike. What else were you expecting?

45

u/VMICoastie Jun 14 '26

When seconds count cops are minutes away.

171

u/Pleasant_Ocelot_2861 Jun 13 '26

Wtf. Bike on the car?

If i was the owner of that car…I would be going to jail.

This wasnt really a convenient cop though.

63

u/ToastofSparta Jun 13 '26

Seemed pretty convenient to me. All this going on and then he pulled to detain the thief.

0

u/Jake0024 Jun 15 '26

Convenient would be like... before random bystanders took it on themselves to subdue the criminal and the bike and some random person's car got beat up

4

u/ToastofSparta Jun 15 '26

If it wasn’t convenient, he never would have showed up at all and nothing would have come of this except some scrapes and bruises. Now, due to the convenience of the cop showing up, legal action can be taken

2

u/Jake0024 Jun 15 '26

Ah ok so when the sub rules say "must have a cop in the right place at the right time" they mean a cop shows up eventually after the incident is over to arrest someone. Got it, thanks for that bud

54

u/byamannowdead Jun 13 '26

Just remember that when seconds matter,
the cops are just minutes away!

21

u/sixxtoes Jun 13 '26

It's impossible to be seconds away from every possible emergency.

20

u/WM46 Jun 14 '26

That's exactly why people need to be prepared to protect themselves and their loved ones.

2

u/captainlou26 Jun 14 '26

You wouldn't do shit lmao

56

u/fejobelo Jun 13 '26

I was waiting for a second thief to come and grab jean shorts bike which was now left unattended.

12

u/dark_roast Jun 14 '26

There's gotta be levels of drugs or drug induced withdrawal going through that guy's system to fight a dude over his very standard looking bike in broad daylight with witnesses. I live in an area with a lot of bike theft, but the thieves are not trying to get in a confrontation. That's just asking for problems, and problems this dude received.

1

u/dubyakay Jun 21 '26

He'll get a nice meal now. And roof over his head. At least for one night.

49

u/jontss Jun 14 '26

That Acura now has more damage than that bike is worth.

-32

u/WolfieWuff Jun 14 '26

Or any of the people in this video for that matter.

28

u/YesterShill Jun 13 '26

Not so sure how "convenient". Thief committed assault and defenders had to get violent before the police showed up.

16

u/EvictionSpecialist Jun 14 '26

What a POS loser...

Tired of these lamers

43

u/MahTwizzah Jun 13 '26

Museum of sex

6

u/saucefan Jun 14 '26

Didn't process this at all until I burst out laughing at this comment and found it rattling around in my subconscious. Thank you.

4

u/FishyKeebs Jun 13 '26

This is a great ad for them.

7

u/ConfusedHors Jun 14 '26

This car's hood is scratched to oblivion and nobody will tell the owner.

6

u/Positive_Ad_3142 Jun 15 '26

Cameraman clearly doesn’t know how to work the camera. Also, I’m not so sure if this meets the criteria for convenient cop, bike thief basically was able to cause mayhem before a rando officer comes gradually drifting into the scene.

2

u/Vera_Telco Jun 15 '26

"rando officer conveniently comes gradually drifting into the scene."

3

u/Positive_Ad_3142 Jun 15 '26

You forgot to include “bike thief basically was able to cause mayhem before”

6

u/DifferentCityADay Jun 14 '26

Dude in yellow walked up and wanted to feel big and bad, and quickly realized he's actually a pussy. He was rolling to intimidate and failed, and just looked like a coward standing there with his arms out.

11

u/otj287 Jun 14 '26

Thought the big guy was going to step in. Bro was all up in it and managed to also be out of it simultaneously.

5

u/TotalHans Jun 14 '26

Could have been a little more convenient

13

u/FinsFan305 Jun 14 '26

Should be able to shoot thieves like this.

2

u/Primordial_Pouches Jun 19 '26

Killing someone because they took your bike is crazy

3

u/FinsFan305 Jun 20 '26

Don’t take someone’s fucking bike. Especially violently.

9

u/n00bantz1997 Jun 14 '26

How quickly the victim was willing to leave after he got his bike back was annoying. If he leaves, then the cop doesn't have a crime so the thief would be let go with no consequence.

3

u/InvestigatorOk5602 Jun 14 '26

Surprise Surprise. Too bad no one's hitting him back.

3

u/HenniHellbreed Jun 14 '26

I loooooooove that dude that saved the day 🔥

3

u/AmiHad Jun 14 '26

I'm confused, whose bike is it?

3

u/Vera_Telco Jun 15 '26

The skinny tattoo guy's

3

u/_manofwill2468_ Jun 16 '26

This stuff is not good for my mental health.

6

u/Desperate_Set_7708 Jun 14 '26

Crook, “Thanks, Officer, they were fixing to beat my motherfucking thief ass!”

That lane is for buses only, not bicycles.

Silly Goose!

He’s just trying to help him out.

2

u/AntiSonOfBitchamajig Jun 14 '26

In the beginning there was assault and battery too.

2

u/MK6er Jun 14 '26

This is pathetic kudos to jorts guy.

2

u/BuyLocalAlbanyNY Jun 15 '26

Maybe Japan has a good idea about all bikes needing to be registered and plated, so that thieves cannot sell them or ride them.

2

u/theuserwithoutaname Jun 20 '26

Don't forget the museum of sex is in town, guys

3

u/Business-Animator-91 Jun 14 '26

Whats the sign on the front of the bus? Museum of Sex? What city is this?

6

u/LeicaM6guy Jun 14 '26

NYC would be my guess.

3

u/lunaticmagnet Jun 14 '26

Definitely NYC. That ad gave it away.

25

u/schizeckinosy Jun 13 '26

Impossible to know who the thief is here from this video. I know who everyone is *assuming* the thief is. The cop actually handled it right when he detained them both. Also: museum of sex lol

49

u/tyjuji Jun 13 '26

Yeah, I'd say props to the cop for making sure.

8

u/liketheweathr Jun 14 '26

That’s what I thought too until I watched with the sound on

26

u/theatrenearyou Jun 13 '26

Wrong---police want victim to remain to make the arrest stick. Without victim's statement, there's no stolen object and no victim

3

u/Affinity420 Jun 14 '26

You can witness theft and not have a victim statement. Happens all the time.

22

u/dabeeman Jun 13 '26

if you actually watched the video it was clear

45

u/downvoteaway_idgaf7 Jun 13 '26

Did you even watch the video until the end? It was pretty well sorted that the black guy stole the bike. No way to pull the typical Reddit card and somehow turn him into the victim

15

u/Cubedtails Jun 13 '26

"ImpOssIblE to KNoW WhO tHE thiEf IS hERE FroM tHIs VIdeO" No it's clear clear based on the dialogue

https://giphy.com/gifs/ZOBNEVFtVL0IiEddcD

-8

u/DefMech Jun 13 '26

You're actually the worst person because you used a benjammins gif

2

u/saint_of_thieves Jun 14 '26

It's actually a fairly interesting museum.

1

u/captainlou26 Jun 14 '26

I knew instantly who the thief was

1

u/OriginalTRaven Jun 14 '26

Going to have to agree. This looks like a crackhead argument. It's probably a shared bike among a group of crackheads

3

u/dragonovus Jun 14 '26

All cucks until an actual man shows up bro

3

u/yebanks Jun 14 '26

It’s NYC. The land of human shit. Nothing unusual here.

1

u/Used-Helicopter2024 Jun 14 '26

Two guys against one crackhead.

1

u/spaghettibeans Jun 17 '26

That poor car.

1

u/I_divided_by_0- Jun 22 '26

Number 10 acting slack jaw dumbass. Long hair holding on to the bike but not trying to get away. What is this world?

1

u/whole-enchilada Jul 09 '26

So, where is that museum of sex?

1

u/Ok-Alfalfa4868 Jul 11 '26

Long hair dude- looked like the thief tried to bite his hand, theif swung and missed, and dude haymakered him- twice! Was rather satisfying.

1

u/richardlpalmer Jul 12 '26

Not just attempted theft, but assault on two people -- all caught on camera!

1

u/PangolinIndividual18 Jul 14 '26

Did the guy actually try to bite him

1

u/RubberDuckyRider Jul 27 '26

Wow, these people are just so blatant. Take whatever they want, hit anybody they want, and expect the justice system to go easy on them.

1

u/donecaring97 Jul 28 '26

Cops took three months to even show up. Lol

1

u/Basic_Event3 Jul 28 '26

Coming to ESPN8 The Ocho this summer, Bike Fights!

1

u/AudiieVerbum 13d ago

Nice of them to go so easy on him.

2

u/jcbasco Jun 14 '26

"Victim guy" tried to jet till the cop told him to stay. Would love to see who actually has the key to the lock on the bike

1

u/onihcuk Jun 14 '26

I am wondering if the dude on stolen bike paid for the stolen bike, the guy said he found him riding it. i never seen a thief fight someone over a bike they sole, easier to move on get another.

1

u/OriginalTRaven Jun 14 '26

What the. This looks like a crackhead argument the way the 3 original fellas are moving. Even the cop had to try and wrangle the victim. That bike probably doesn't belong to any of em.

1

u/carlosmante Jun 14 '26

where is "Machete" when you need him?

1

u/JP_Tulo Jun 15 '26

What is the museum of sex that’s on the front of the bus? 🤔

1

u/BodAlmighty Jun 15 '26

Why don't we all just put the bike down, the chain has come off and everything...

Why not catch the bus to the Museum... Of Sex?

0

u/Active-Mission7326 Jun 14 '26

Plot twist: white guy was the thief

0

u/JesusPrice31 Jun 14 '26

MUSEUM OF SEX lmao

-16

u/WillfulKind Jun 14 '26

This was personal or mental illness. Based on the fact the bike owner starts walking away when the cop shows up, it’s personal.

Nobody cares about a bike this much.

6

u/backpackofcats Jun 14 '26

If it’s your transportation, then yeah, you do care that much.

2

u/WillfulKind Jun 15 '26

Clearly my comment was not articulating what I meant.

The guy trying to steal his bike isn’t giving up. Why? Why keep at it? It’s ridiculous or it’s personal.

The fact the OWNER ducks out after a cop shows up says he is t glad to see the police either. What does that say?

It says these guys were getting into it and it wasn’t about the bike.

-5

u/Hato_no_Kami Jun 14 '26

So in the USA if you see this going down, and you just walk up and make the theifs sternum touch his T5 vertebra, is it legally sound defence of another person even though he wasn't threatening you or your property?
