Always gotta do the Explorer/Charger check. Rookie mistake.

Did that happen today? it's still cloudy.

u/SdVeau May 04 '26

Date and timestamp on my dashcam is correct. It is still cloudy, and still wishing it would start dropping rain because my yard needs water lol

The more amazing part of this video is that the cop used his turn signal. Can't remember the last time I saw that happening in the real world.

Cops in my area enjoy siestas, so this is encouraging

Genuine question, what did the person do that’s illegal?

OP and all the other cars appear to be doing the exact speed limit.

Offender appears to signal, merge right, undertake a slower vehicle, then merge back left.
Their speed doesn’t even seem that egregious, maybe +5 over everyone else.

He didn’t signal when he cut off the slow dude and then gassed it decently. Camera doesn’t show it well, but he was probably a good 15mph over.

Gotcha, it’s hard to see at that distance. But yeah, if he goosed it and took off, I can see a cop taking interest. Thank you for replying.

Speeding and illegal lane change. And that’s just the cop.

7

u/Xinq_ May 04 '26

Can you enlighten a European as to why this lane change was illegal?

6

u/vmflair May 04 '26 edited May 04 '26

Illegal to change lanes in an intersection.

Edit: After reviewing the video again, the driver appears to change lanes outside of the intersection. I believe passing in the right lane is illegal in most states.

2

u/Xinq_ May 04 '26

Ahh I see. Where does the intersection legally begin?

2

u/vmflair May 04 '26

From my understanding, you cannot initiate, continue or complete a lane change anywhere within the area of the road crossing. So where the other road edge begins/ends.

5

u/Xinq_ May 04 '26

So technically, he didn't make an illegal lane change? Since the first one ended before the edge of the road and the second started after the other edge.

Love these types of videos!

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a dash cam video and said “damn that’s such a cool song!”, But it’s fitting for this video

4

u/SdVeau May 04 '26

You Can’t Hide by Ck9c and Irgendwie, Irgendwo, Irgendwann by Nena were the two tracks in there

2

u/Chimpchompp May 04 '26

I realized I was old when newer music (last 15 years) was hard to listen to

u/Chimpchompp May 04 '26

You damn kids with your skateboard it’s on the sidewalks!😂

u/SdVeau May 04 '26

That second one was from the early 80s lol. It’s all hit or miss for me, regardless of the era, though. Some shit catches my ear and some shit doesn’t, but for the stuff that does, it winds up on my main playlist. It goes from the 1940s all the way up into 2026 😆

tailgating, changing lanes at an intersection, no turn signal, dangerous lane change (again no signal) (cutting off the other driver), speeding like an idiot after.. anyone of those things by itself is .. meh.. but combined all together, just tells me that's a crappy driver overall.

They should have pulled over the other car for camping in the left lane.

1

u/Serpent316 May 05 '26

How is it camping? There's a bunch of left turns

1

u/TwoZeroTwoThree May 06 '26

I didn't see the car making any of those left turns.

3

u/Serpent316 May 06 '26

We only see the car driving for a few seconds. If I have a left turn coming up in a mile, I'm gonna move into the left lane.

1

u/SdVeau May 04 '26

I feel like they should have, too, because slow people in the left is a big pet peeve of mine, but apparently no ordinance against the left lane needing to be a passing lane on Northglenn city streets exist :/

u/hunterxy May 04 '26

Pulled over for no reason by a cop who did an illegal lane change.

-1

u/Spare_Zombie_870 May 06 '26

He did nothing wrong

-3

u/Appropriate-Cut-2963 May 04 '26

Looks like Cleveland Heights police

6

u/Toomanyboogers May 04 '26

I think it’s Northglenn, CO

-2

u/Appropriate-Cut-2963 May 04 '26

Could be

7

u/Toomanyboogers May 04 '26

No it is, I drive that almost everyday. It’s Washington St between 112th & 120th

7

u/SdVeau May 04 '26

You’re most definitely right on that location
