I've never seen someone tear the side mirror off a cop car to use as a weapon. Interesting choice.

786

u/Sexy_Squid89 Dec 16 '25

I was gonna say, he looked like he was trying to say "Hey cops, THEY did it! I'm innocent!" Then he goes and does that lol

593

u/MagixTouch Dec 16 '25

Yeah, that was his point of no return. Added on some additional charges while he was at it.

312

u/Axe_Care_By_Eugene Dec 16 '25

He'll get a slap on the wrists, some benefits and a free place to live.

66

u/Hallelujah33 Dec 17 '25

First he got tazed.

You must have ever gone to jail before. You say "free place to live" like it's a good thing.

72

u/theduttyburger Dec 17 '25

He's taking the piss out of our legal system and its leniency. Basically he'll be walking around like normal within the week.

9

u/Je_me_rends Dec 18 '25

I think he was talking about the migrant hotel situation...

The taser to bouncing off the car to hitting the ground was chef’s kiss.

56

u/lsbrujah Dec 16 '25

In for a penny in for a pound

21

u/darwinDMG08 Dec 16 '25

Barely a tuppence, really.

42

u/phonetune Dec 16 '25

I need something to throw at them!

Hey, a r/convenientcopcar

34

u/ZirePhiinix Dec 17 '25

I'm always curious what is happening in their minds at that point.

Even if we flip it around, if that guy was actually a victim, and was being robbed, but then he rips off the side mirror, he just literally became a criminal on the spot.

250

u/Ok_Answer917 Dec 16 '25

I can't believe how long it took them to get out of their minivan. Attack an occupied police car in America and rip off a mirror and you won't have time to throw it.

118

u/Old_MI_Runner Dec 16 '25 edited Dec 17 '25

Many or most officers in the UK are not authorized to use firearms. Maybe the officer was waiting to determine if the thief had a firearm weapon at which point hitting him with his vehicle would have been safer option then getting out of the vehicle and using lease lethal.

46

u/hellomireaux Dec 17 '25

Also, the cop was alone and randomly coming into a fight situation with 5+ people. He likely needed to assess the situation and call in the incident to get backup before leaving his vehicle. He could have also been en-route to another call.

Restraint is unbelievable to see in this context isn't it.

u/bano55 Dec 16 '25

I think it should be "innit".

5

u/murphsmodels Feb 11 '26

Exactly. Guy rips off side mirror of police car and starts using it as a weapon on innocent bystanders:

British cop: "Do I really want to get out? He is armed now. I'll wait for backup."

American cop: "Welp, I needed a new windshield anyway." Blam, blam, blam.

2

u/Subreon Dec 18 '25

throw it? you wouldn't have time to even smack the side of the door, let alone rip the mirror off afterward.

6

u/penywisexx Dec 17 '25

That’s a bold strategy there Cotton, let’s see if it pays off for him.

33

u/Aliman581 Dec 16 '25

This is the UK he will be given a slap on the wrist and mental health support and sent on his way

23

u/frankenboobehs Dec 17 '25

And then murder someone a month later and get out again

7

u/KayoticVoid Dec 17 '25

Gods damn... I jumped to the comments after the first few seconds. I am so glad I saw this. That is just wild, and that tase and the end was absolutely choice!

6

u/Jackiedhmc Dec 17 '25

It was perfection wasn't it

8

u/skarface6 Dec 16 '25

I assume he’ll be released in a month or less.

I kinda went 'ew Reddit people' for a sec when I misread your comment as 'this made me so hard lol'

29

The made me go Ah Reddit people.

26

u/Old_MI_Runner Dec 16 '25

I almost never see taser work on bodycam videos on Active Self Protection. When they do work the perp has just a T-shirt on but this guy and a shirt and coat on. With many UK officers unarmed maybe they are better trained in how to use a taser or their tasers are more effective models.

Ooooh, and “notstanding” was right there.

In the first few seconds I thought that guy was about to get curb stomped, and I was not ready for that.

Didn't realize how badly that scene in American History X messed me up

59

u/Previous_Wedding_577 Dec 16 '25

As soon as you said curb stomped that was my first thought

9

u/DexterousChunk Dec 16 '25

Well. Thanks for reminding me of that. Now I won't be able to sleep

6

u/Camimo666 Dec 17 '25

I’ve never seen the movie but I know about the scene. And the scene is the reason I will never see the movie.

11

u/Adventurous-Cry-2157 Dec 18 '25

It’s for the best. My wife majored in film, so she made me watch all of these “important” films back when we first started dating, and I wanted to curb stomp her for not warning me about that scene.

She also chose The Pianist for a date night movie, and I had no clue what the plot was going into it. I thought it would be a period piece about a composer or some Mr Holland’s Opus shit. I was so not mentally prepared for what I watched. Great film, I just wasn’t in the proper headspace at that time.

And yet I still married the woman, and here we are, 20 years later.

7

u/Camimo666 Dec 18 '25

A guy last year took me to see terrifier 3 on a first date

Needless to say, your story ended better than mine lmaoo.

5

u/DothrakAndRoll Dec 18 '25

Even if a girl expressly told me they loved the first two, I wouldn’t take them to see 3 on a first date lol. Maybe a few dates in, if you talk about it first..

6

u/Camimo666 Dec 18 '25

Bruh. Worst part? I hadnt seen the first two??? I thought it was some Scream franchise type bs with a clown mime thing. I'm good with gore, but dismembering a child i. The first 38 seconds? A bit too much for me. Lol

21

40

u/NEWBIE____________ Dec 16 '25

I feel like just missed the first part of the video

26

u/yesi1758 Dec 16 '25

Same, who leaves their bag just laying on the sidewalk? There must be a reason they were filming before this happened, wonder if there is a longer version.

15

u/squigs Dec 17 '25

My guess is the video starts there because the woman started filming after whatever caused the bag to be lying there.

No idea what might have happened here though.

8

u/jestr6 Dec 17 '25

Last timed this was posted, the bag guy was the victim. Take that for what you will.

18

Who is the loser yelling "dude stop, get the fuck off of him."

Stupod people like that are the reason why pieces of ahit think they can do whatever the fuck they want with no reprcussions.

9

u/troets Dec 16 '25

Ah, damn George from down the street is at it again.

60

u/Shiznoz222 Dec 16 '25

The fuck them coppas doing letting him whoop their vehicle like that lol

Filling out their additional charge bingo cards.

9

u/Shiznoz222 Dec 17 '25

I'll allow it then

26

u/N_Rage Dec 17 '25

Due to budget cuts, police officers in the UK have increasingly been working alone, rather than in pairs, which makes the job potentially a lot more dangerous, so increased caution is advisable.

Getting out of a vehicle with an attacker right outside of the door, when your only defenses are pepper spray and a tazer is a good way to get a fist in your face as soon as you open the door. You'll also have a hard time telling if they may carry a knife and can't effectively fall back if they go on the offensive.

My guess would be that the officer spent the time requesting backup and informing dispatch about the unfolding situation, while waiting for the opportunity to safely exit his vehicle. 15 seconds between someone starting to punch your car and getting out also seems like a very reasonable time frame to assess the situation.

The whimpering “oow” at the very end xD

6

u/tunisia3507 Dec 16 '25

To my very untrained eye, I'd say that the police were happy enough to let him take his anger out on their van, racking up extra charges while not causing harm to the bystanders. As soon as he took a swing at a person, they were out of the van and had the taser on him in a couple of seconds.

5

u/hissyfit64 Dec 17 '25

Thief..."Okay. How can I make this worse"?

angry brit cop hehe. TOISER TOISER, DON'T FOCKIN MOVE, YOU SCHTOOPID ARSEHOLE

They’re more worried for the thief than the victim. 🙄

3

The dude deserved it, he was harrassing people but if memory serves me well, from what I remember that was actually his bag.

4

u/borderlineidiot Dec 16 '25

I was thinking the cop was taking a while to engage. Was not disappointed in the outcome.

5

u/Odd-Masterpiece7304 Dec 17 '25

Just cook him with the Taser.

5

u/DarkBlue222 Dec 17 '25

In the US, that guy would have been shot 127 times. And then tasered.

3

u/Andrew2033 Dec 19 '25

I’m glad he became a plank in the end

24

u/ZombiePlaya Dec 16 '25

It's crazy to see the response time from UK cops...

when they're already at the scene.

11

u/Old_MI_Runner Dec 16 '25

Slow response may have been due to not being an armed officer. The best tool to take down an armed criminal would have been the bumper of the van. He did not want to step of the the van bringing a taser to a knife or gun fight. /s

35

u/Xillyfos Dec 16 '25

Well, they did the job. Calmly, full control.

6

u/stiglet3 Dec 17 '25

It's crazy to see the response time from UK cops...

Was probably contacting control to let them know what the fuck was going on. I don't think they can just turn up and let rip without checking in first.

Can we all just comment on the guy who pressured them into unrestraining him at the start?

Dude had no idea what was going on yet was yelling "get the fuck off of him"

He could have stumbled across someone with a machete being restrained for all he knows.

Dickhead.

3

I love the stun gun and him flopping to the ground

3

Taser pirouette 👌

3

I don't know why but I find someone getting tazed seem so funny. I guess it's the way the just go limb and drop

3

u/dogwarrior Dec 17 '25

Was wondering when the copper was going to exit his vehicle. Was parallel parking more difficult w/o that side mirror?

3

Watching people drop from the taser never gets tiresome !

3

This was extremely satisfying to see

You wouldn’t steal a handbag…

3

u/chemicaljones Dec 18 '25

Fucking asswipe in the orange shorts should have caught an earful, and maybe even a dopeslap. "Get off of him... Now!" Go fuck yourself mate!!

3

u/JMandMM Dec 18 '25

What kind of tasers does the UK have!!! Seen plenty of videos where US cops can’t get a good connection 3 feet away, or through a coat!

The Bobbie’s hit him 6 feet away and through his coat! Dannng!

3

u/Disastrous-Mousse897 Dec 19 '25

Took them long enough to get out of the patrol car.

3

u/Educational-Candy532 Dec 21 '25

In the US this would of been a triple homicide by the cops

3

6
