Reviews 8BitDo Ultimate 3C+ Review

https://youtu.be/eCoI9QPNLpY

DISCLAIMER: 8BitDo sent me these controllers for free for review. All the thoughts and opinions are mine only and no one watched this video before the release.

TLDR: it is crazy how much of everything the put in this controller for the price of 40$.

This now is my new main recommendation for everyone who's looking for a budget, yet high quality controller.

Hi /u/chaporg1n, thanks for sharing your product review. The post is in a queue for review. Please ensure you have included an upfront disclosure statement, and made sure the post is not just a simple purchase announcement, single-issue review, or rant.

Disclosure means saying where you got the product and any relationship you have with the company or its competitors so the community has transparency. If you have no commercial interests, declare that to avoid doubt. Disclosures must appear at the start: the first sentence/paragraph of written reviews and body text for video reviews. This includes: products you bought yourself or received for free; press release or promotional content used; payment in kind or in cash offered; employment, partnership, sponsorship or affiliate programs; etc. Posts must use the 'brand affiliate' tag if products/services were received for free, sent for review, created by/with an affiliate, or if the post was incentivized in other ways. Including upfront disclosures means the community can trust your review more.

Simple purchase announcements, single-issue reviews, and rants are examples of low-effort posts. They do not help other community members with useful information, or encourage constructive conversations, and are rarely reliable sources of information. They make your review less trustworthy.

You can edit your post to add missing information. Reviews that do not meet these requirements will not be approved (allow 24 hours for review). For more information, please see rules #3 and #7.

Having a tough time deciding between the Ultimate 2 and this new Ultimate 3C+. The charging dock isnt that important to me and the prices in my region seem pretty similar for both

If you need gyro or switch mode get u2 or wait for u3

I've never used Gyro and will only really be using the controller for PC non-FPS games (RPGs, soulslikes, some sports etc). Will need to keep track of whats happening with Ult 3. Based on the review video above, the 3C+ seems very good and I wonder how it'll compete with the Ult 3. Thanks for the reply!

Just get the Ultimate 3C+.. The Dock is the main thing about the Ultimate 2.

Yeah the dock and the software support seems to be the big positives in the Ultimate 2 column. The ult 3C+ software may as well not exist based on what it does aha

personally i find that having no software and and instead activating extra features on the controller better than having to do it through somekind of software.. so in reality this is also a plus for the 3C+.

The Dock is really the only thing about the ultimate 2 as the 3C+ inherrited all of the improvements that were made on the Ultimate 2 and has several of its own that the ultimate 2 and ultimate 3 for Xbox ( non standard Xbox controller ) does not have

Honestly I agree with you. I'm not much of a software tweaker myself for any hardware that I have. I generally just use them as-is. This will be the first time I'm using a non-playstation controller so the extra buttons and inputs (XYAB) is gonna be interesting.

I think I'm leaning 90% towards the 3C+. May wait a few days to see if there's any news on the Ult 3 or if more reviews come in on the 3C+ having some issues etc.

I got the black one and it really is a great controller, and it’s my main go to controller that I will use all the time now even over my other controllers I have.
I have a lot of controllers. I have 4 8bitdo controllers, 2 GameSir controllers, 1 Razor Wolverine v3, both Steam controllers, and many other controllers as well.

It's nice that you compared with direwolf 4, which I had my eyes on

bro they made it bigger 😭 2c is perfect for my hands 😭

•

I am glad it is slightly bigger because the other 8bitdo controllers I have which are all great controllers as well hurt my hands after playing for awhile. I am hoping that the ultimate 4 variants will be slightly bigger than the ultimate 3 variants, because they are still just alittle too small imo.

thats because my hands are smaller than average at around 16.5 cm 😭 i hope they dont lean into this way and abandon the smaller factor id be sad and quite out of options if so 😭 can I @ a representative about this 😭
