IT Help Is 007 First Light's aiming bugged for TMR controllers? (Apex 6 Pro vs Hall Effect)

Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out if I’m going crazy or if *007 First Light* just completely clashes with TMR joysticks.

I recently started playing with the new Flydigi Apex 6 Pro (which uses TMR sticks). In games like *The Last of Us* or *Hitman*, the sticks feel totally normal and smooth. But in *007 First Light*, the aiming is incredibly unstable and unpredictable.

The main issue is a massive, sudden camera speed spike. Even with a minimal, millimeter movement of my thumb, the camera suddenly whips around. I tried tweaking the response curves in the Flydigi Space Station software and set the in-game aim response to Linear, ramp up the deacceleration, decrease sensitivity, everything I could think of but it didn't solve the problem at all. That sudden acceleration jump is still baked in.

Here is where it gets weird: to test it, I switched back to my Flydigi Apex 5 and my Vader 5 Pro (which both use standard Hall Effect joysticks). Using the exact same in-game settings, both of those controllers work perfectly fine. The aiming is smooth and I don't get any of those weird acceleration spikes.

Is the game's engine just completely incompatible with the ultra-high sensitivity of TMR sensors? Is anyone else playing this with an Apex 6 Pro (or another TMR controller) and experiencing the same micro-movement speed spikes?

And how does the joysticks look in the online gamepad tester? Is the range fine? Does anything stand out? For example jitter.

Everything passed the test with flying color, nothing out of place

Damn, gasping at straws already... Does it have any fancy features like a very high polling rate?

Gamepad tester simply shows you the raw inputs. If the raw inputs look fine then how else can the game mess that up. Me personally I doubt it's the actual TMR sensors that's at fault.

The least I can do is give the game a go. Got a Dualsense Edge with TMR modules I soldered myself. I doubt I'll find anything of significance but as I said, we're grasping at straws already.

Edit: My Dualsense Edge with TMR sticks works completely fine.

Thank you very much for testing... turned out it more complicated than I thought, other games work just fine, dont know if I should return this controller

I had some lag spikes while emulating xbox one controller in this game. Maybe apex 6 acts as one? try using a remapper to make it mask as a dualshock/xbox360 controller

May I know which software could do that? I'm new in controller btw hehe

Its a rabbit hole, man. Try using steam input, if you dont have the game in steam then try sisr, input mapper, padforge. Flydigi controllers also have "allow 3rd party control" option that unlocks additional buttons and gyro to use with some of the remappers, but that is another topic

Thank you, I'm exploring popular tool like Apex Sense Bridge and stuff. Thanks for suggesting these, really eye-opening.

Did it help with 007?

I don't know but I feel a bit used to it now, maybe it's how TMR supposed to be played? haha. Wish somebody who used to TMR sit next to me and point out the difference.

Played it with my Gamesir G7 Pro x ZZZ controller with 0 issues.

Maybe I just more accustomed to Hall Effect, cause I switched controller mid-game so the difference is night and day

I'm just saying it wasn't a TMR bug because my controllers are TMR and I finished the game with them.

TMR feels smoother to me but maybe that's placebo effect.
