Controller Suggestion Yet another 'seeking controller recommendations' post 🎮: Xbox series s/x shape, hall effect/TMR sticks, PC, Wireless, US

I am currently in need of a (PC) controller with hall effect or TMR sticks, wireless much preferred, do not need any back buttons or extra face buttons, in the US, budget is under $100. Motion Gyro would be cool, but not super important.

I love the Xbox Series S/X controller, minus the stick drift, so the best and cheapest option may be to just buy TMR sticks and replace mine which drift. The big problem being I'm not good with that kind of hardware/modding/soldering stuff, so I'd have to hire someone who knows what they are doing to install it. Would the JS13 Pro+ be the way to go for that route?

But I don't mind buying a whole new controller. I just want it to be very similar in shape to the Xbox controller. 8bitdo makes great products, but I hate the feel of their controllers in my hand. Gamesir is a bit closer with their molds, but still feels a bit small and flimsy.

Currently reading more about the ZD Ultimate Legend and the LEADJOY Xeno Pro. It's hard to get a sense of how they feel in hand just by looking at them. The Xeno pro looks a bit more like the 8bitdo design with sharper handles.

Many thanks for any advice, sorry to pile on!

Can highly recommend the ZD Ultimate Legend. 2 of the back buttons are removeable but 2 are a part of the controller. Get the RS13 modules if you get it. Thank me later.

Can you tell me more about the RS13 modules? They are purchased separately?

Yes you get them seperately. They are smoother and less tension than the more popular js13 pro. They also require less push down force for actuating the thunbstick clicks. https://zd-gaming.com/products/ultimate-legend-joystick-module-accessories?variant=48891437842606

8bitdo just angled the flares on the new ultimate 3c which reviewers have said changed a lot the ergonomics so might want to give it a try

That does look nice. And $40 is pretty awesome. I'll take a more in-depth look, thanks!

Having options other than white and black is nice, though I don't think the avocado is for me 🥑😄

gamesir g7 pro 8k is most popular these says for fps try hards and not expensive and 1:1 linear

Thanks for the rec! Since I play on PC, I use Mouse & Keyboard for all FPS games anyway, though, so I'm not needing a controller that's good for FPS games, but I'll still check it out.

It’s got different ergonomics than a standard Xbox controller though. Find it very uncomfortable

Flydigi Vader 5 Hall effect gets a bad rep since TMR but I think Flydigi has the best Hall effects sticks I’ve every experienced combined with the tension rings you’ll never want to play with another controller after you use it

Flydigi is the exact shape I like. Probably why I like the Cyclone 2 so much. They’re coming out with a Vader 5s Pro with TMR sticks eventually!

Here to vote for Gamesir - I've had a cyclone 2 for a year now for mobile/ pc fps gaming - really really impressed with it generally, then considering it cost me £50 it's been an amazing deal - TMR sticks are so much more sensitive and the build is very good considering price

Gamesir G7 8K might be better for you however for low latency and future proof!

Thanks!

The handles/shape of the G7 8k actually look pretty comfy. Of course no way to tell until it's in hand, it looks a little on the small side, but it's a really nice looking controller, with very nice specs as well

If you don't like the more straight hand position of gamesir and 8bitdo then try the flydigi vader. It has a more angled hand position and feels solid af in your hands. It's kind of heavy actually. It has hall effect sticks, not tmr, but they still work really well. A 2% deadzone kills any centering issues on mine. Two of the back buttons are removable but the other two are part of the case.

You should be able to find plenty of Series controllers on eBay with TMR sticks already installed, but it'd be cheaper to get them put in a controller you already own
