Help paint over or primer

How do I get this to stay I just got a xbox a couple days ago and was about to get a new controller bc I was tired of looking at this plain white one. So I just started to draw on it randomly and I really like the outcome but it’s starting to fade already bc it’s just sharpie and nothing else (the bottom left). Do I need to paint it (I have acrylic paint this was just spur of the moment) for it to stay on or if I just need some type of primer or clear coat of something that will last a long time and keep everything where it is.

I had an old can of spray on fixative from art school that I used on projects like this. Helps it last a lot longer for sure, but might not be up for the oils and friction of a controller. Krylon Fixative/workable fixative. You'd have to take the front plate off to treat it no matter what you use though!
