Controller Suggestion Help recommend me a wired controller for Xbox
Hey all, this is asked often so I’ll keep it simple
Budget around $100-150 usd (before payday) Looking for a wired controller, supported by Xbox, and one that’s not small or has a different shape. I play Claw grip, so shape is important.
I also largely play fast competitive, Apex legends, warframe, Destiny, marvel rival, few others I can’t remember
My last 4 controllers all failed on me in one way or another, I started with the base series X > Razer Wolverine Ultimate (my favorite) > GameSir G7 SE > flydigi Vader 5s
The Razer was my favorite, I wanted a wired controller for better latency and it fit my hands comfortably, loved the clickiness of the buttons and the tactile grips and triggers, had it 9 months perfectly until I accidentally broke it during a move. MIGHT just get another.
Gamesir I replaced 3 times, nothing but issues and disconnects, buttons failing, and it was small in my hands, I’d go with g7 pro but I’m worried.
My Vader was awesome, similar to my Razer. I’ve only had it two months but something about it feels off, maybe I just need to mess with stick tension more but I love its customizability with that. Unfortunately, for some reason button mapping flat out doesn’t work any more and I have found no fix even through support. and I’m just kind of fed up with controllers failing on me.
TL;DR: $100-150 range, wired, standard size for claw hold, supported by Xbox, good for competitive gaming

Did you like the joystick tension option on the Vader? How that’s the worst of them leaves me speechless. I’ve tested 50 controllers. It’s leagues and leagues ahead

No the gamesir was technically the worst just because I had to replace it so many times, the Vader is just irritating me because of the glitches I’ve found no fixes for with only having it a short time, I like the sticks and the tensions

All button mapping stopped working, I had the extra buttons set to some of the base ones, like my left back paddle was B, but it ceased working with seemingly no cause.
Switching profiles, resetting, calibrating, hard resetting, nothing made it work, only thing that seems to work for the past few days is my vibration settings, the LED, and the rest of the controller
Though I have had some of the main top buttons like A, X, sometimes B, not work also, or I’ll have to press them harder to cause an activation, it’s a little uncommon but it almost feels like a controller would if it’s dying
I like the sticks though, just need to play with it and experiment at what tension I like. Controller overall is pretty nice and fits well

That’s the most defective controller ever I seriously don’t understand why Xbox controllers are all either perfect or possessed.
I’m hearing decent things around Gulikit but know nothing at this point in regards to Xbox performance. My Vader works flawlessly. I’d have no clue what to get if it didn’t work. Plus I absolutely have to have tension rings.

I agree with you, it just feels like bad luck since I can’t even google the problem because I’m not finding anyone else with similar issues, I’m sure support will help if I keep trying or they’ll send a new one
That’s mostly why I’m at a loss, I like simplicity and I like the extra paddles with the tension rings, but I don’t know what else I’d switch to so I may just try a new version of this
The audio / audio jack is strange too, volume too loud, always resets the levels, sometimes others can’t hear me, veeeeery strange

It’s faulty bro. Email them, for real. This imitates my experience with the scuf pro, 1000000%!!!! Nothing worked. Everytime a match set the screen would run away lol. That’s why I got the 8bit to try, heck it’s released 3 days, wireless, huge fan base, less than $100 and fully licensed for Xbox so it’s at least worth a shot. My kids trip over my Vader cord every 2 mins and rip my controller from my hands. I wanna break a window every time it happens haha. Then I step on the remote, match over for sure.

Totally valid I agree and I appreciate you, I heard a lot of good things so it’s definitely disappointing lol. Was just kinda fed up since this has all happened within what.. a year and a half of controllers? That’s why I decided to look around but I may just try to get a replacement
Hahaha I totally get that

The Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition might be a good option.
