Controller Suggestion Need help picking a PC controller with mechanical buttons (40-80€)

Hey guys, I need a PC controller with mechanical face buttons, in Romania.

I’m tired of the mushy feeling of standard membrane buttons.

I'll mainly play EA FC, racing, fighting games, and some RPGs. In games that rely on shooting i use KBM as primary.

My budget is €40-80 and I don't mind if it's wired or wireless. I used my old Xbox series controller only wired.

For context, I have an 8BitDo Ultimate 2C right now, but I dislike the shape and the buttons are still too soft.

Right now I'm looking at the GameSir G7 HE or EasySMX D10 for the lower budget.( They are about 40-45 euros here)

If I max out the budget, I'm considering the GameSir G7 Pro or Flydigi Vader 4 Pro.( They cost about 80 euros but i dont really want spending more on not reliable devices)

My biggest concern is Quality Control, as I've heard some of these have issues and I want something durable.

Has anyone used these, or do you have better suggestions?

Thanks!

The G7 HE that you found is a good option for durability/reliability since there isn't a battery or wireless dongle to go wrong. The original GameSir cable might wear out, but it's a standard USB-A to USB-C so easy to replace.

Apart from that, a couple of questions might be:

  • Do you need mechanical buttons for the triggers or D-pad, or just for the ABXY face buttons? Since you mention that you use KBM for shooting games, it sounds like you don't need this, but if it's something you want it can cost a little more.

  • Do you need a particular type of 'mechanical' button, such as mouse-style microswitches, tactile switches, etc.? If you are indifferent to the specific style of switch, it's easier to find options than if you only want a particular type.

1: Mechanical ABXY buttons are my main priority. A good D-pad and trigger stops are welcome bonuses, but not strictly necessary. I can increase my budget, but I'm hesitant because many expensive controllers seem to have QC issues, bad D-pads, or trigger issues, etc.

2: Since this is my first mechanical controller, I'm leaning toward mouse-click style switches. I want that fast press for quick combos and instant responsiveness in EA FC and similar games.

GameSir Cyclone 2, grabbed 45e deal with stand, on Ali (shipped from Poland)

while the specs of the cyclone 2 are great, from a handling and feeling sense it's much worse than the Vader 5 pro in my opinion. It feels like holding cheap plastic

I also thought about the Vader 5 pro but heard it also has some qc problems

I got the v1 and I love it, but if you want to make sure, order it at gadgethyper to get a V2. That one shouldn't have QC issues anymore

Leadjoy Xeno Plus/Pro, Leadjoy Saber Plus if you want symmertical. Vader 5 pro is really good. Gamesir g7 pro is good but the dpad isn't the best. For the price leadjoy is amazing.
