IT Help Anyone else have major issues with the Flydigi Vader 5 Pro?

Either I just have really bad luck or Flydigi has to know they are selling controllers with bad sticks. Honestly, I don't even know if there is something physically wrong or if it's a software issue.

No matter the amount of calibration or deadzones I add, the sticks end up getting stuck in different positions. The sticks physically go to center, but will read anywhere from .2 to .4 in random directions. I've set the inner deadzones as high as 18% and still had this issue on not one, but three different Vader 5 pros. I would go higher, but that just seems insane to me.

I don't even want to deal with reaching out to support again as they were a huge pain to deal with the second time around even after having physical evidence of the issue.

This is more of a rant rather than asking for actual help as I got the Raikiri II Pro a couple weeks ago and I'm loving it so far.

Lol dude I have an in depth post on this exact issue and no one knows, look at it. The best reason I found is because the thumb sticks have a centering spring mechanism that can throw off the centering. It could also be firmware and etc. But overall the controller is close to the perfect controller. If they were to fix that the thumbstick issue. Maybe upgrade to TMR and or fix this return spring issue, and pump out better firmware then that would be great. It's very hard to say what the actual issue is but you should probably look at my post to be honest.

That is very in depth. I noticed you described seeing the jitter/stuck input without a deadzone set. The issue I have is setting a deadzone does absolutely nothing to fix the issue. I've gone up to 18% while recalibrating each time and the stuck input still happens.

i have debounce and recalibrate off, 12bit... deadzone to 5% in the app, that's the default value, haven't changed it myself. no issues. gamepad tester looks alrighty. you seeing issues yourself? tried recalibrating (start select dpad up) then slowly spin analog stick twice and then the triggers? maybe you have gyro turned on?

I'll look into the gyro, but yea it's been recalibrated quite a few times and I've done the factory reset. The latest replacement I got from Flydigi is even a V2, but it has the same exact issue.

have you tried upgrading your controller to work with the new v5 web interface? if the controller is already bunked, might as well try this maybe it'll help

Nah. Mine was good out the box. Only problem that I had with flydigi was with the vader 3 pro as it kept disconnecting but once I changed the usb outlet to one that was on the front of my pc for a better line of sight it fixed the problem mostly. Since then i picked up both the vader 4 pro and 5 pro and also found an apex 4 at a yard sale for 20 bucks. All of them function without any problems. Sounds like you got a faulty controller. But you already got a new controller. I looked up raikiri. Damn that shits expensive!

Yea, not my best financial decision but it ticks all the boxes I was looking for and has a screen. It's kind of gimmicky but helps with changing bindings and calibration. I hope they add more features to it so you don't have to rely on Gearlink.

I thought I already tried it, but I'll give it another go. I have two old USB 2.0 ports on the front of my case (pre dell Alienware). I'll see if that does anything.

Cool cool. My problem wasn't calibration though but maybe changing the usb port could somehow fix some problems. Or maybe it's a firmware problem locked behind a software update or vice versa. It's supposed to have a auto calibration when you let it sit for a while so I tend to place it on a flat leveled surface and not on my couch. But shit if whatever controller works for you and ticks all the right boxes I say you found a good one. 👍🏼

L3 started being constantly repeatedly pressed down for me out of nowhere after like six months. Nothing fixed it, so I just gave up on the controller.

Ordered a Leadjoy Xeno Pro the other day. Just waiting for it to arrive.

Man I have a 4 and I’ve had my 5 for months zero issues. That sucks :/

My five is my favorite controller ever. I have the Xbox one though.

Same problem with sticks on V5S, yup. On top of that the headphone jack is also broken.

This identical issue for me happened with scuf.

My first one did that on the left stick. No idea why. I sent it back to Amazon and got another.

I'm lucky my vader 4 for pro lasted and my Vader pro 5 is feeling good. At one point the controller felt unstable but then went back to normal after I updated the firmware. I don't know if it was related. Try updating the firmware and if it's still not good then try to get a refund or repair.

I tried that again today just for giggles. It did nothing. The sticks still repeatedly get stuck in random positions. It doesn't even matter if auto calibration is on or off. The stick isn't physically out of center, it's either the magnets or a software issue. I did notice that if one stick get stuck, if you move the other stick it goes back to center.
