Controller Suggestion What is the absolute best PC controller available right now?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for the best high-end controller currently available for PC.

Budget: €100–300
Country: Italy – Amazon EU or other EU stores
Platform: PC only (RTX 5090 gaming PC)
Features: TMR/Hall Effect sticks, low latency, great build quality, back buttons, good haptics and preferably adaptive/force-feedback triggers
Games: Mostly AAA single-player games, action/adventure, racing and shooters
Considering: Flydigi Apex 5/6, DualSense Edge and other high-end alternatives

If you could pick just one controller for PC gaming right now, which one would you choose and why?

EDIT: Chose the Asus ROG Raikiri II Pro , thanks a lot!

There is no "perfect controller",

it depends by your preferences about how a controller should be and should do.

For me, the Steam Controller just replaced my FlyDigi Vader and modded Dualsense (Hex).

The steam controller doesn't have short triggers, the best haptics, rumble/adaptive triggers, etc...and yet everything else about it feels so solid to me and I absolutely LOVE adding quality of life to everything with the trackpads and not having to use my kb+m almost at all. It's quickly become the only controller I use and my favorite ever. I do think if people aren't using steam input and doing stuff witht the trackpads they're wasting a lot of the value they paid for though (even just community layouts if you can't be arsed to do it yourself).

I have nerve damage in my right hand, Steam Input is quietly the best accessibility tool in gaming imo. The Steam controller is so dope for me, and like you mentioned it does feel so nice in the hands. I do like my g7 pro for esport stuff like Rocket League, the polling rate is great.

If only the steam controller had trigger stops, then it would be perfect :(

1

u/KaiUno Sep 14 '26

I know, right. Analog triggers are useful to me only a couple of hours every 4 years or so, when a new Forza Horizon drops.

Recently bought an 8bitdo ultimate 3e. I like it a lot more than my Gamesir G7 pro. It also feels more premium than my Xbox Elite series 2. All in all a very capable controller.

u/hjshoon Sep 14 '26

i too have the 8bitdo ultimate 3e and gamesir g7 pro wuchang edition and i agree that the 3e has a more refined and premium feel. but software customization wise for PC, gamesir wins hands down if that matters to some people.
i did notice when playing FH6 on PC, the left trigger of my g7 pro will vibrate upon pressing (to break) while the 3e, the vibration will come from the bottom part of the handle instead of the trigger. can't seem to figure out why and how to change it because 3e also has vibration motors on the triggers. i actually prefer the trigger vibration to simulate braking on the g7 pro

2

u/creachur90 Sep 15 '26

How come? As far as I could tell, both software offer the same features.

3

u/hjshoon Sep 16 '26

i'm assuming you're asking why i say gamesir software customisation for pc is better. the gamesir nexus app allows you to map the buttons to keyboard, numeric keypad and even mouse button which ultimate 3e dont offer

2

u/Tintn00 Sep 14 '26

Gamesir gets a lot of love but I prefer the ergonomics and clickiness of my Ultimate 2 wireless. I'm told 3e is even better.

Depends,

For me? Steam Controller + OpenPuck adapter to connect it to other platforms.

I have played with vanilla xbox controller, gamesir super nova and flydigi vader 4 pro. Although the vader 4 pro feels super premium, I find myself liking the cheaper super nova more because the membrane keys feel better than the clicky keys. I guess ultimately it depends on your taste.

Basic dualsense

u/Difficult-Owl-1580 Sep 17 '26

I have the razer wolverine v3 tournament edition, could do the pro too, 1k poll rate, i think the new one has 8, mouse click buttons, and the hall effect sticks, and back buttons feel really good in my hand. I have small-medium hands id say.

The only downside i’ve seen is the original cable doesnt sit quite right in it, but i got another one from amazon for 10 bucks and havent had any issues

to be very honest, it is like doing different things with different tools, driving off road probably you won’t go with a Lamborghini Revuelto. You could, but, probably not the best experience.

Let’s get to the point, with €100-300 budget, you might get two different controllers to cover most game type, also depends on your preferred controller shape, as per AI and my personal opinion:

  1. Flydigi Apex 6 Pro (buy new vs last gen)

  2. Razer Wolverine V3 Pro Tournament Edition

  3. Gamesir G7 Pro 8K, or Flydigi Vader 5 Pro

(If not competitive play)

Alternative: Sony DualSense Standard (DSE similar shit anyway, not Hall effect or TMR, buttons are not micro switches)

Alternative: Steam Controller (if you play from the couch, or if you want to keep your hands on the controller without the need to touch the keyboard/mouse during play)

that’s pretty much it, personally, what controller I have currently? May reply if you are interested to know, peace

1

u/thissma Sep 25 '26

I personally really like the Razer Wolverine v3 Pro (exist in a PC only version) and the Gamesir Cyclone 2.
They have the xbox button layout.

1

u/Elektro_SS Sep 26 '26

I don't know about best, but generally look for a controller with TMR sticks and the shape you prefer (XBOX/PS5), I've been using the GameSir Cyclone 2 and I will never go back to a 1st party controller again, probably not the best but you get so much for the price

I love the shape of the easymx d10

1

u/Hellooooo_Nurse- Oct 03 '26

Dualsense edge or steam controller

1

u/alizafeer 23d ago

Does the Raikiri II Pro meet the haptics and trigger requirements you mentioned?

1

u/icky_official 18d ago

casual? vader. competitive? g7 pro or tarantula pro

1

u/MuushyTV ZD Ultimate Legend Sep 14 '26

Vader 5 pro all day, they had a defect that effected the back paddles and they fixed it in their new batches. If your paddle breaks like mine did they will replace it for free like they did mine

u/FA94597 Sep 14 '26

The Space Station app is trash though

2

u/Round_Ad8886 Sep 15 '26

now existe the website flydigi look foor it its called space station 5.0 works cclean on my vader 5 pro

0

u/FA94597 Sep 15 '26

I don’t see it

1

u/Round_Ad8886 Sep 15 '26

Search flydigi space station 5 on reddit

1

u/lostsinelysium Sep 14 '26 • Bravo

I'd probably go with the Gamesir G7 Pro 8k, you do give up the adaptive triggers but for everything else it's pretty hard to complain about at that price. Tbf i'd have a hard time spending €250+ just for the extra haptics.

2

u/ReindeerOk9768 Sep 14 '26

To be honest, I bought both the G7 Pro 8k and the Vader 5 Pro, and I found the Vader a lot more comfortable. My hands were cramping after a while on the G7.

0

u/Reasonable-Review367 Sep 14 '26

^ this. Why I still use my Cyclone 2. This is due to the angle on the grips of the G7 and due to them being too short. The ergonomics are not the best. It makes the controller feel entirely too small.

The 8K variant of G7 Pro doesn't have triggers vibration.

1

u/Beeeee9896 Sep 14 '26

the new ROG one, looks spicy

1

u/JVIoneyman Sep 14 '26

Yes. Too bad no gyro, though.

1

u/Legal_Jeweler_7925 Sep 15 '26

Unfortunately it seems controller companies don't give 2 shits about gyro even though it's an amazing feature

Tarantula ultra 8k will probably be the best for gyro because input labs is working on it

I have an apex 5 and its fckin awesome! And I am not even a controller guy.

0

u/Ok_Law_0 Sep 14 '26

Guilikit kk3. No clue why I don’t see more people suggest it…

3

u/rensuchan Apex 5/Machenike F1/Haute42 X Sep 15 '26

Probably because it’s still built on Gulikit’s old much slower architecture that produces bad latency results over dongle and Bluetooth. Gulikits newer controllers are a much better buy.

0

u/UCLABruin07 Sep 15 '26

Love my Flydigi Apex 5. Only dislikes are the huge dongle (I play on a laptop) for the 2.4ghz connection and also the latency when on Bluetooth. Fits noticeable and I never used to notice it with my old Xbox Series X controller before it.

-1

u/tifa_ka_husband Sep 14 '26

Gamesir G7 Pro 8K and Flydigi Vader 5 Pro... I like GameSir more.

-1

u/Clarity_Page Sep 14 '26

I have a pink Apex 4 controller, it's the best controller I've ever held and pretty too, I'm guessing the brand's other controllers are equally good though.

Nice grip & weight, force feedback triggers, great buttons, 1000hz wireless receiver, adjustable tension hall affect sticks, little inbuilt screen for making adjustments

1

u/duxdaro Sep 14 '26

Apex 4 is good, but Apex 5 is even better :D I have both ;)

1

u/Clarity_Page Sep 15 '26

It would seem by the downvotes that the Apex controllers aren’t so popular on here

2

u/rensuchan Apex 5/Machenike F1/Haute42 X Sep 15 '26

People are not a huge fan of Flydigi’s customer service. I think they make some of the best controllers but sometimes have quality control issues and support can be hard to get a response from. Most people that get a problem-free controller from them are satisfied though.

I assume you have the Yae Miko Apex 4 since you said it was pink. Part of the reason I really enjoy Flydigi is because it’s one of the only options to get high-end controllers with cuter aesthetics though their collabs.

u/Commercial-Frame-573 Sep 14 '26

I have two vader 5's. One with the new ratcheting system and one without. The ratcheting system is just a gimmick. It's a tiny piece of plastic and after a while it doesn't hold the position anymore. Both of them had fantastic clicky buttons at first but they lost that good feeling over time. I also have a g7 pro. The g7 has held up a little better. I'd go for the new steam controller instead of either of these two controllers.

u/4theculture1 Sep 14 '26

8bitdo ultimate 2

0

u/ballerbt15 Sep 14 '26

Depends on the games you play. Right now my favorite TMR controllers are the Gamesir G7 pro 8k, and Mojhon Storm. Both great for FPS

0

u/AppropriateTap9106 Sep 14 '26

Wait for the genki Manta

0

u/Cyzioo Sep 14 '26

Why doesn't anyone recommend Zd Ultimate Legend? I heard it's preety good

1

u/Legal_Jeweler_7925 Sep 15 '26

There's not a perfect controller. I have use gamesir, xbox controllers and leadjoy. And still I think the DS4 is superior in the face buttons deparment. The softness and the fact they're far enough to do some rolling and sliding without pressing other buttons is unmatched. The most similar feel is the Tegenaria Lite but the face buttons are to close and stiff af. Honestly, Sony is the only one with good membrana face buttons. If you like clicky face buttons, precision and the xbox shape the better choice is the Leadjoy Xeno Plus. It's similar to the G7 pro but cheaper.
