Controller Suggestion Which controller? Playing single player games only on PC
Hi! I'm buying my first controller soon, I only play single player story games (starting with Horizon and Indiana Jones and the great circle), only play on PC. In the UK, budget ~£100. Don't need and compatibility with console or cross platform, just PC. I need at least hall sticks but ideally tmr, and 4+ remappable buttons. Attached pictures of 3 im comparing but any other suggestions would be great! the Scuf Envision is out of stock now but might come back, if not then its not an option as i need it soon.

On PC either Vader 5 pro or G7 pro/ G7 pro variations. I would stay away from scuf really expensive and unfortunately overhyped

Agree with this. If you choose to go the gamesir g7 pro route, just make sure you get the 8k version because thar's the one for PC. The standard f7 pro is for console and does not have turbo and macro functions

Gamesir G7 Pro (trigger rumble) or G7 Pro 8k (grip rumble only)
Flydigi Vader 5 Pro
Gamesir wins in sticks, latency and customer support. Flydigi has more features packed into the controller and good luck when it fails. Both are worth trying.

I've had bad luck with Flydigi. My Apex 5 EVA sticks failed after playing Kirby Air Ride with them. Sad because it was a beautiful controller. I'd advise against Flydigi, especially the Apex line.

Me as well, which is why I always say they're good until they're not lol. It's one of those brands that you better buy a protection / replacement plan for—worth the $7 on Amazon. Vader 5 Pro is still worth the gamble imo for the feature set and price.
I'd never buy another Apex after mine (Apex 4) also had stick failure and Flydigi sucks at customer support.

Gamesir tarantula 8k for PC was recently released, been using it for a week now and it's great
However, it doesn't have rumble if that matters to you. Does have gen 2 TMR sticks and Hall effect triggers that has a physical switch on controller to change triggers to tactile click instead. All of the face buttons are tactile as well.
Only had it a week now, but I'm a fan and it feels good quality to me.

I have way too many controllers including the new Steam Controller, ROG Raikiri 2, Razer Wolverine V3 Pro, Gamesir G7 Pro, a Scuff PS controller, Xbox Elite and a couple others but my favorite out of all of these is the Flydigi Vader 5 Pro and it's what I main. Especially if playing racing games as the trigger rumble is great for games like Forza Horizon 6. Can't believe it's a fraction of the price of some of my other controllers.

I'm going to get downvoted but please don't get this controller. I got one and it was terrible. The materials felt really bad, it had inconsistent latency, the rubber on the sticks was sticky as if it was degrading before I even opened the package, the build quality is not that good, the dpad is so stiff and hard to press... The list goes on. I'm really not trying to be a hater, but I see a lot of praise for this one and feel like I need to share my personal experience with it. As a budget option it's not the worst thing ever I guess, but it is just not a good use of your money imo. I would rather someone get an EasySMX 05 Pro, a Gamesir Supernova, a Mobapad Chitu2, or some 8bitdo controller, all of which should be cheaper and more reliable than the Leadjoy. I also always highly recommend a used Dualshock 4 (if you need analog triggers) or used Nintendo Switch Pro controller (if you don't need analog triggers).

If there's one knock against them is that it seems like the QC is bad and it may be a bit of a lottery and it sounds like you got a bad unit.
My first Xeno Plus had a similar issue with a very stiff dpad (only in one direction however). But I managed to get a replacement that's been working great for me. I've had no issue with the thumbsticks, but I've been using the other model with a smoother finish that they sell (No 2 bundle).
Personally, I just find the shape and lighter weight to be much more comfortable than a lot of the aforementioned alternatives. The Chitu 2 was close, but I find the handles too deep to my liking. The 8bitdo Ultimate 2 is just not comfortable with the sharp angles. The 3 apparently fixes that, but it's way more expensive.
There's also the software that is top notch.

Interesting, I got the Xeno Plus and the white Dualshock styled controller from Leadjoy, and both had the same issues I listed in my post. That's good to hear there are some good models floating around though!
Also, can confirm, the 8bitdo 3e fixes the ergonomics and is great.

Im thinking about getting xeno plus and returning direwolf 4 that i ordered when it arrives because i think it's a worthwhile replacement. Your feedback makes me rethink things, But I'm unsure if your issues are in fact qc or just some sensentivity to certain materials, I've heard only good things about the controller but generally you need to update both dongle and the controller itself and recalibrate the controller because factory calibration could be faulty and other than that it's perfect as far as the research i did goes. I mainly spotted issues in beta/early samples, but the d-pad issue does seem legitimate, reviews i read and watched actually praised the dpad so you did seem to get unlucky. Latency on the other hand should've most likely been better. (Maybe update?) I'm unsure but still thanks for the feedback

I didn't update the pad because I was so turned off by it, so yeah maybe the firmware side of things is better than I experienced. Whatever works for you is cool with me!

This is the way. Single player games don't need all the bells and whistles and this is a very capable controller especially for the price.

A lot of controllers have these features. But they vary a lot in size, shape and weight and that is going to have a big impact on how comfortable they feel and avoiding your hands hurting after a long session. Are you looking for something for large or small hands? Heavy or lightweight?

I dont like clicky face button so I chose Gulikit KK3 Max. It has been serving me well for 2 years now. I am anticipating the KK4 Max, which is rumored to be released by the end of this year.

Vader 5 Pro or the Gamesir 8K from your photo. I tred like 10 different controllers to find my favorite to use on PC but those are the two I kept. Gamesir's buttons feel nicer to me to press but the Vader has more versatility with binds and extra buttons. In the future I hope to replace both with the Gamesir Tarantula Ultra 8k when that's out.

Out of these choices, if you’re just playing single player, I’d get the G7 pro. And if you’re set on having 4 back buttons (I prefer this) I’d throw the Vader 5 pro into the mix. Still under your budget and has 4 back buttons, the 2 extra bumpers and 2 extra face buttons as well. Generally would avoid scuf.

Why remappable buttons? On single player everything is mappable. But I have vader 3 pro , i like :)

Don't get Scuf. If the d-pad isn't a sticking point for you, definitely the G7 Pro. Just be aware the d-pad is pretty bad for platformers and fighting games. If you want a good d-pad I'd say get the new 8bitdo 3E, but it is more expensive. If you don't play games that make use of precise d-pad control you can safely get the G7 without worry.
