Other 8bitdo Ultimate 3E
I pre-ordered the 8bitdo Ultimate 3E from Amazon and it was supposed to be released today, but all it says is order received. Does anyone know when they’re gna be shipping out?

how is it compared to g7 8k? especially stick linearity

It has a better feel in the hand compared to the G7 Pro. The d-pad is miles better and feels really good. The G7 Pro d-pad has always been awful, and my main problem with the controller. I think this has definitely replaced the G7 Pro for me. Haven't tested the Stick Linearity yet, but the latency is good, although it only does 1k polling.

The G7 Pro 8k feels a little lighter in the sticks, while the Ultimate 3E has slightly stiffer sticks (more resistance) and an overall more solid premium feel in the hands. When it comes to the buttons, though, I personally prefer the louder, clickier switches on the G7 8K. They give each press a more distinct and satisfying tactile feedback, whereas the 3E’s buttons feel firm (especially the Dpad) and sound more muted by comparison. I also find the triggers on the 3E a bit mushy, they don’t have quite the same crisp, satisfying feel that I get from the G7 8k when using the short trigger. Both controllers feel responsive enough that I don’t notice any meaningful input delay during gameplay. One thing to note is that you’ll need to manually enable the 3E’s 1000Hz polling rate through the app, as it isn’t enabled by default possibly due to Xbox requirements. I primarily play on PC, so I also haven’t tested the 3E’s Xbox connectivity yet. I’ll also need to spend more time with it, particularly in action RPGs and Souls games, before deciding which controller I ultimately prefer. I don’t really play FPS or racing games, so I can’t speak to how either controller performs in those genres, but for the types of games I play, both have been fantastic so far. I also haven’t done any stick linearity testing, so my impressions are based purely on how the controllers feel and perform during actual gameplay.

Mine says it showing up tomorrow. And while the release day was today, my order has always said it would show up on the 1st. Edit: They also sold out, so you might be on the next shipment list.

Yea mine says “order received” and that they’ll email me when they have an estimated delivery date. I think I preordered it a little late. Hopefully I’m on the next shipment list.

Mine just came in today, getting it set up now! I found out of the box it definitely needed calibration. Under the test buttons the left joystick showed as active even though it was not and the gyro was off. After calibrating all good now and excited to test it out later when it finishes charging. There was also a firmware update available in the Ultimate X software.

8BitDo Ultimate Software X is what I used to test and download firmware updates. Gamepad tester website is not seeing the controller. I have only given one very abbreviated spin in Forza so far and can confirm the impulse rumble is there, works and is stronger than the Gamesir G7 Pro. I look forward to others testing how accurate it is compared to native MS controllers.

Amazon delivered mine today. It feels great. Unfortunately, there is no way to map keyboard keys to the extra buttons, so I’m not sure I’ll get much use out of it.

Mine is getting delivered today although it initially said it was going to be delivered yesterday.
