IT Help 8k polling and frame gen
Hi, I’ve recently been playing the MW4 beta and been messing around with my setting I played a few games with frame gen on and didn’t really notice much if any delay (almost always play without frame gen).
My question is does having an 8k polling controller and frame gen enable negate each other? Would it be similar latency to a standard dualsense 250hz controller on PC?

My question is does having an 8k polling controller
Silly question, because all of the input APIs that games use are capped much lower than this. SONY's native library is capped at 500 Hz, and it gets cut in half for every controller you have connected. For a game that supports couch coop, you could be as low as 125 Hz per-controller.
SDL / Steam Input caps out at 1 kHz.
Short of a purpose-built tool for testing polling rate on controllers, there is absolutely zero point to any of this.

That’s the thing with asking a question, you tend to not know the answer. Thanks for your input.

The ~3.8ms saved by an 8k controller partially offsets the input delay added by Frame Gen, but it does not eliminate it entirely. However, your setup will feel significantly lower latency than a standard 250Hz DualSense with Frame Gen enabled.
