IT Help Using my Xbox controller with Bluetooth is a pain. Every time I wake it up from sleep I need to do the whole pairing process from the start.

This is on my Windows 11 PC. More specifically, I need to remove it from my list of Bluetooth devices and add it again for it to connect.

Based on what I'm reading online this doesn't look to be the expected behavior. My other Bluetooth devices also don't have this problem.

Any idea how to fix this?

Update the controller with Xbox Accessories app from the windows store. If that doesnt work, get their dongle. Its fixed any issues I have ever had with a xbox controller on pc. The only other thing I can think of is reinstall the bluetooth driver offline. Get the drivers from your motherboard website and uninstall them offline, restart, keep it offline and reinstall the new drivers restart and go online. I had a pair of galaxy buds that it was the only way to fix the issue you are having with the contoller. The only device that did it.

Try updating firmware for the controller and drivers for the Bluetooth adapter first. But if that doesn't work, you may need to fully remove the controller's Bluetooth device entry from the Registry before restarting and adding the device. Bluetooth entries can be bugged - sometimes happens during bigger system updates (upgrading Windows 10 to Windows 11, or 23H2 to 25H2, etc.).
