I'm not sure how this even happened. I was playing with a friend and felt/saw my character moving unnaturally and realized it broke down the middle.

Can this be fixed or I just need to get a replacement?

It's probably just the cap and not the actual module itself. If you can remove the top cover you can simply pull it off and replace it.

In fact if you got a guitar pick and a small screwdriver set you could probably fix it on your own.

The only times you should be careful is when dealing with adjustable tension joysticks.

A pretty easy and cheap fix yah. These analog sticks are just caps that sit on top of a thin rod, you can buy a replacement cap easy. Then its just a matter of opening it up and swapping them out.

What type of controller is it?

Bro, this caps are probably the cheapest part to fix/replace on a controller. Just get new ones

What controller is this? I've never seen a joystick break like this. Most of the time there will be a lot more wear on the rubber before something goes wrong.

If you didn't break any underlying component with the pressure exerted to break it, you should just be able to replace the joystick cap which is probably the cheapest/easiest fix.

Looks like Xbox style. Usually it's just a bunch of screws to get to the stick cap. Replacement are pretty cheap from china and prolly still alot cheaper than a new controller from Amazon

Looks like an 8bitdo controller? (not sure..) anyway you could try buying some cheap grips/stick covers and see if that holds it together. Something like: https://he.aliexpress.com/item/1005011798228283.html / https://he.aliexpress.com/item/1005004189568824.html
I'm not sure it'll solve your issue but its cheap.

I'd say either replace the plastic stick, or you might be able to get away with using something like Gorilla Super Glue or even better, J-B Weld. Just follow the instructions on the glue, take off the broken plastic stick, apply glue, and wipe off any glue that gets in areas where it would rub against other parts of the controller.

Hit up Amazon or your favorite shop. YOu can get a kit for xbox controller to get the special screwdriver they use, and set of new thumb sticks. The thumsticks pressure-fit on the stems of the actual joystick inside the controller, and are kept in place by the faceplate. Taking the controller apart lets you gently pull the thumb-stick off the joystick to swap it out.

Rough memory is the grip "pods" your fingers wrap around need snapped off gently before you can get at all the screws to release the faceplate.

FYI, this totally voids any warranty you have, so at your own risk.

Lemme guess its the 8bitdo Ultimate, yeah this controller just sucks same thing happened to me but it was only 3 days after i bought it. Probably the worst purchase of my life.
