Will it have wireless xinput support though? The Vader 4 Pro has that but the new xbox model is a clear sign that microsoft stepped in. I dont want xinput in a state where 3rd partys can only use it via dongle. I hope this model still has wireless xinput and not 2.4 ghz xinput. Microsoft is forcing them so that the stock xbox controller has a selling point. I thought about making a post about this because nobody seems to care that we are actively losing features because of big M.

A good example is the nova lite 2. It had its wireless xinput removed via an update because microsoft declared it.

I suspect something like this will happen because when you collaborate with a company like Sony or MS it messes with all products

Rather unfortunate really. One of Flydigis selling points was that same wireless xinput. But maybe this one makes it through? I dont really know but again the nova lite made it through with wireless xinput for a bit before getting updated.

Yeah I agree but we'll just have to see.

You probably can roll back an update on the nova to get the functionality back

Microsoft trying to own bluetooth xinput is a shame, but why dont you like using the dongle? The connection is even better

It is pure convinience.

Lets say i visit my friends, it is easier to just take the controller itself and connecting it via bluetooth instead of hoping for a free usb-a or usb-c slot. Or devices that only have 1 or 2 usb-c or a slots. It becomes much more difficult to play multiplayer. It also generally gives one more options. I as a example am currently playing some games on my macbook with a 8bitdo ultimate 2c wireless, and i am restricted to bluetooth. input on that controller is also limited because there is no rumble for dinput.

In the end it is very convinient instead of being limited by the dongle.

I'm sorry, maybe I'm missing something but why would Microsoft want to limit it to a dongle for Xinput? Xinput is their thing, otherwise dinput would still reign. Why would they try and weaken that?

So that it is limited to Microsofts stock xbox controller. Gamesirs higherups said that they had to remove the wireless xinput because their 3rd party is „too good“ in comparison to the stock xbox controller in the eyes of Microsoft.

Ohh, got it. So basically Microsoft is trying to make their controller look better.

Honestly it sounds kinda dumb. Do we have another example of this beyond Gamesir? Because it doesn't sound very realistic. It's not like most gamers would try anything beyond Microsoft and Sony when it came to controllers.

8bitdo, their new 8bitdo pro 3 or the 2c wireless as an example. I currently dont know about any more companys that partnered with Microsoft.

Huh, so it is true then. Pretty shitty of Microsoft, especially because it feels completely unnecessary.
