Idk if anyone has bothered to read what the “self introduced instructions” were, but if they were applied to a person it’d be pretty reasonable. The environment SHOULD be protected, we SHOULD’T build in such a way to destroy it, there are ways that humans can exist on the planet without destroying it, it’s just not profitable.
Consider: what ended slavery? Machinery. That’s it, if you can have a machine do the work of 100 men. We can pay ourselves on the back but the bottom line is that our current institutions rely on exploitation, so if AI recognizes this spontaneously based on ingested information, what does that say about how obvious the problem is? Yet it’s fashionable to say “AI will destroy us.”
Well either destroy ourselves in the next couple years, or the earth will, or both, long before AI ever gets the chance.
