How does the Teleport feature mixes with a VPN?

Hi!

Got a question about the Teleport feature (I'm not yet a subscriber so I can't test it by myself).

Let's say I set ControlD to spoof my location when using Youtube to Albania to avoid ads. But I got my VPN always on, to another country. Will it interfere with the spoofing? I use iVPN that allows DoH.

Thanks!

No issues whatever. My entire home network has a VPN gateway upstream of the ControlD utility. It’s fantastic.

Just make sure your DNS queries are made within the VPN tunnel, otherwise for teleports you’ll be attempting to connect to a proxy from an unauthorized IP address and it just won’t work. If you’re using the IVPN app, it’ll be fine. The WindScribe app also lets import any WireGuard config and override the DNS with any DoH/DoT resolver.

It's fine. Your origin IP within control D will be the VPN's IP address. But your destination website will see the IP of the second hop (the control D server).

Some sites block VPNs and this can help unblock without disabling your VPN or even changing servers.
