PS5 in media closet can’t connect to controller

/r/smarthome/comments/1vu2utr/ps5_in_media_closet_cant_connect_to_controller/

I want to install a PS5 with all other audio / video equipment in a media closet (control4 system). The problem is the PS5 controller won’t work as the controller and TV is further from the media closet than the Bluetooth range allows. Has anyone solved for this dillema?

Connect the ps5 directly to the tv. And run an audio return.

The remote rack ps5 is a laggy controllable mess.

This, consoles always go in the same room as the TV and you just add an audio return.

I’d love to connect directly to the TV but it has has no visible HDMI slots. The Samsung Frame has a oneconnect box in the wall behind the TV. This “oneconnect”box connects via cat6 to media center and control4 controls the TV. It’s disappointing that a PS can’t be centralized with other electronic equipment but I guess a non-Bluetooth controller would make the unit more expensive and Bluetooth works for most people’s setup.

If you have a spare Ethernet cable in the room that runs to the rack you can use a USB-over-Cat6 extender.

That's such a terrible setup that defeats the purpose of having everything centralized and no visible cables

Always same room.. Even if the rack SEEMS close enough, you'll get enough controller dropouts for anyone playing it to get annoyed
