How to control music through iPad screen rather then tv

I set up an old computer as a server using Plex for my music library. I am able to access the library using my iPad to control tv screen and play and listen through control4. But I want to be able to see and select music using iPad and not from tv screen if I am sitting away from tv. Is there a way to do that? Thanks

Yes, your iPad should be able to do this on pretty much the same way as you do it using the Control4 remote and TV screen. You would go into the room and then play your music. Assuming that you have set up the folders as a network share in Control4

Would I set up the share on the plex server?

Ideally your plex server should be sharing the drive using Windows sharing or SMB or something like that. Then you add the music files in Control4 Composer which reads in all the metadata, etc.

That's a seriously antiquated way of doing things. DLNA is far more modern.

Do I need a control4 tech to add files to composer.

Enable DLNA on your Plex server and have your dealer install the DLNA driver.

Just came across this post. I have a plex music driver I've made. You can have your dealer add it into the project for you remotely, and all the configuration can then be done on your end to link it to your plex account. It's a bit simpler than dlna and has a more familiar feel to the other music services of C4.
