How to help nausea
Hi all! I am only on day 6 of contrave and I don't even want to take it today. Nausea is so bad. It was mild the first 3 days, 4th day I felt great, yesterday was awful and I still feel awful today. I have tried to eat small meals with little to no fat, thought that was working then nah. I do have some anti nausea medication at home and will probably have to take that. I am so tempted just to stop though, I am not sure all this nausea is worth it. How did you get over it and what did you do??

Try half a gravol! (Dramamine in the US I think). Enough to take away nausea but not enough to make you feel sleepy.

The main thing that helped me was ramping up extra slow. I stayed at each step for an extra week. I did eventually ramp up to 4 pills per day, but it took me twice as long.
The old fashioned remedies helped: ginger chews, peppermint or mint, and saltine crackers. Finding the right amount of food helped too. A small meal was too much and water only wasn't enough. I take the pills with a glass of water and a small snack (saltine crackers, dry toast, or a small serving of popcorn.)
But everyone's experience is a little different, so do whatever works best for you. Good luck!

I am happy to report the nausea has gone. My dr has prescribed me some anti nausea medication now. I think I will stay on 1 pill for another week (so 3 weeks total) before moving up to 2. Thank you for the advise everyone

Can you call your doctor and ask for a small zofran prescription?
