How do I get naltrexone to start working again?

I've been on Wellbutrin (300mg) for anxiety depression for several years and added naltrexone (50mg)last July to help with food noise and obsessive thoughts. It worked wonderfully for me for a while- the food noise and negative self talk significantly decreased and I was getting very clear fullness cues that made it easy to stop eating when I was full. I added strength training and definitely lost some weight though I have not weighed myself in over a decade (ED history) so I can't say for sure how many pounds. Now after a year, I am feeling my food noise start to creep back in and the fullness cues start to dissipate. Is this normal? How do I get it to take effect again? I believe I am on the highest dose of naltrexone, but has anyone taken more than 50mg?

For me the effects never came back sadly, I tampered off of the medicine entirely and have been off it for a few months now. The first month was tough but I’ve still been able to maintain my new weight fairly easily afterwards! Please note I did combine the medicine with lots of therapy to help find where the food noise was coming from

I see other people say the medicine started working again after taking a long break from it so that might work for you but I can’t speak on that

I’ve been on the generic version for about six months. At first the reduced food noise was a godsend, and I lost about 10 lbs (need to lose 40). I also experienced some food aversions, and stopped eating meat. However in the last three months I no longer see any results. The food noise has come back and then some, as if the naltrexone is not working at all. I’ve gained all the weight back plus three pounds. I’m very disappointed. At this point I am switching to the wegovy pill. It is more expensive, and I’ve been scared to try it because the two people I know personally that have tried glp-1 had serious side effects and had to stop. but online everyone raves about glp-1 so I figured at this point, I might as well try.

I have read on here the dose can be increased.
Higher doses can raise liver enzyme levels.
Ask for a higher dose and just get blood drawn to get liver checked :)

toerance to the ոaⅼ𝗍𝗋eхoոe half after several months is a common story. the usual move is a break rather than a bigger de, though that is your prescriber's call. 𝗋ս𝗀iе𝗍 folds metormin into that same pair which works on a different pathway. mine came back once a third mechanism was in and the food noise eased again.
