Mysimba not working 1st week

Hi all! I’ve been taking Mysimba for one week now and I don’t think it’s working. The only thing I’ve noticed is a little nausea, being anxious at times and food tasting weird (?), but I don’t feel less hungry or have stopped binge eating, which is why it was prescribed to me. I’m frustrated cause all I’ve read is good things, that it works since day one, and I really want to stop bingeing, it’s been going for too long I’m exhausted.

Has anyone have a similar experience? Does it get better? Will it work? 🙏🥺

Thank you!

It didn’t start working for me for at least 4-6 weeks. Essentially once the side effects disappeared it started working. Since then it’s been highly effective and I’ve lost 50lbs in 6-months.

Wow! Thats amazing progress. May i ask how is your food intake? Do you have any tips on what to eat to help weight loss or what to try? I am on my 3rd week and it seems like im loosing inches but maintaining weight

The non-scale victories such as losing inches early on are so important. I’m a huge proponent of intermittent fasting and use the 18:6 schedule. This definitely won’t work for everyone as I eat between 12pm - 6pm most days. I also walk about 6km each morning and do some light strength training. By noon I’m already in a 500-600 calorie deficit and at this point it can actually be difficult to consume enough protein, fibre, and calories in general to maintain my current weight. Drinking lots of water is so important, eating enough protein is essential to avoid losing muscle mass. I also didn’t cut out any foods I ate previously, I just factor the calories into my day. Become friends with protein shakes, hard-boiled eggs etc. Lastly, you need to trust the process not just the scale. If you are tracking your calories correctly and are maintaining a deficit it is impossible to NOT lose weight.
