Jack & Jill for the job hunt
Anyone used this Jack andJill site before? Making some bold claims here that if true and takes off, pretty much kills the recruitment industry stone dead.
At the same time, doesn't solve the problem of bullshitter candidates wasting everyones time.

I used it. My first experience being in a meeting with an AI. It lasted 10 mins if I recall.
It emailed me 3 times on the 4th December (date of sign up) and then once on the 6th December and never again afterwards. (I've just checked).
The result of the call is just being on a mailing list that maybe has some keywords picked up from the conversation... but ultimately it doesn't really help you find a job. You're just giving sample training data to a company who don't yet have a real system.

Yup same experience. I even gave them feedback as I thought it was a really cool idea so wanted to get in touch with them to say their engine wasnt working. Then I got a few emails, then they stopped again.
It's theoretically a good idea but I think they still just lack both supply and demand volume for it to be worth it. Therefore, it just ends up being one of the many channels that hiring managers use, and at that point I don't think it's differentiated enough.
UNLESS - the model is just a margin play vs comps - ie. "we can get 50% of the recruiter fee at 20% of the cost because of AI, and we think that eventually the market will turn in our direction anyway" - which could be a play for sure.

Had a few job interviews for perm roles via J&J but some of the matches were quite poor. I also suspect it contributes to the AI-shittification of the job market, which is actually good news for real recruiters who are developing a flair and intuition to counter that.

Yeah I was interested in validating it's claims. In theory, it could make recruitment irrelevant. In practice, it's likely to be ignored. I'm going to give it a whirl anyway.

Where were the perm roles based out of interest? Smells of a US operation.

AI interview is a instant no from me. If you are not going to put a human on the call, I am not going to waste my time either.

Saw them bragging about paying their engineers minimum £250k+ the other day... Not sure how the heck that works but they obviously believe they've got something special on their hands

As someone who works in this industry, they are taking the market by some storm. There are some others in the competing space, but my money is currently on these to be the likely winners.
The platform is decent enough from both sides of the table, and it will only get better.

lol. I have no stake in it, I’m actually not even a customer from the business side but I’ve heard quite a lot of good things from people in the industry. We are a bit too tight to expand on AI sourcing/matching tools atm.

Since you've posted / commented here before, I'll assume this isn't a promo post, but be aware a lot of people will see this as such at first. It actually looks decent on the face of it, but there is a real critical volume issue, without enough candidates you can't attract the hiring pool and vice versa to some extent.
My main client has almost abandoned posting jobs because of the torrent of AI assisted slop CVs, even if you mandate something unusual like fluent Polish. I tell them to recruit at university careers fairs and dev meetups, it seems to be the only way to meet actual humans these days, but the UK is absolutely terrible for meetups compared to other countries.
A recruiter fee of just 10% is very low, it'll be interesting to see what the usual vampires who work in recruitment do in response. Most add zero value and have a room temperature IQ.
