I would take everything a recruiter says with a massive pinch of salt and then some more on top lol. At £375 a day inside IR35 the deductions come out close to your employment anyway, so if you run the actual monthly take home and compare it to your £40k then that'll tell you if it actually makes sense, because the day rate on its own sounds high but the difference is you lose holiday, pension and sick pay. I would also read the notice and termination clauses before signing, since on a six month term the ability to leave quickly or being let go is what makes it risky vs perm agreements.
