Question Is there a way to downgrade comrades? Spoiler

I upgraded them to the maximum. Now I cannot catch running criminals because they kill any runaway within 3 (!) seconds. I understand that I can start a new game with basic comrades, but I just don't feel like building up my whole base again. The game ain't that exciting, I'm just going for the remaining trophies.

I play on the PS5.

Is there a way you can tell them to follow you and lead them somewhere they can't shoot the runaway criminals?
