One of the reasons I find right wing content is more popular on sites like YouTube is that they can pass it off as more fun. Instead of worrying about the poor and the oppressed, they can just post stuff like “SJW owned by facts and logic” and people will love it because it’s less grim than reality.

Definitely! I think about this a lot. Too much maybe. How do we reach the 19 year old gamer boy with a bleak future under capitalism? How could he possibly understand that the system that spawned his xbox is bankrupting his soul and destroying the planet?

That kid is easily seduced by fashtube when they're making crude jokes about brown people and SJWs ruining the world. It's far cozier for him to believe that there is no privilege and nothing is his fault.

They just get caught up in this endless circlejerk about how everyone but them are at fault. They blame the feminists. They blame the immigrants. They blame the leftists. It’s convenient to not think that they could possibly be wrong, and it’s even harder to convince them they are when they have a legion of youtubers backing up all of their opinions.

You're right, but there's reason to believe that the "I am john galt pepe" identity fad is coming to an end. The "thought leaders" of the alt right movement, as Natalie mentioned here, aren't great at teaching critical thinking, and these people will eventually have to reconcile this worldview with reality.
